Also really enjoyed the absurdity of this.Beau is Afraid. Ari Aster what are you doing? Maybe I’m not intelligent enough to find the nuance in your films. David Lynch couldn’t get funding for his last film he wanted to make but this guy does

Den of Thieves 2 is already out. In fact I think it's nearly finished its run. You’ll have to watch it before Den of Thieves 2 comes out
"garbage Heat" is pretty much spot on.They just did a re rewatchables for it, I personally think its a bit better than garbage Heat but i can see why it gets that tag.
I dont really agree with that, I think its better than that."garbage Heat" is pretty much spot on.
That, or "Temu Heat" or "We Have Heat At Home"
I was quoting the BP guys and they explained what they mean on latest pod. It's not denigrating DoT, they love it, it's just a description they use for fun b-grade action flicks that resemble more well regarded/celebrated films.I dont really agree with that, I think its better than that.
If Heat is the peak, The Town/Inside Man is the layer down, Den of Theives would be the one under.
The Garbage version is more like The Vault?
Its semantics but to me garbage versions are trashy, this is better
Yeh I know the BP pod well. Temu-heat is a slap to me though. If someone called me the temu anything I’d be insulted and I ride for Big Nick and Ray all day.I was quoting the BP guys and they explained what they mean on latest pod. So more in line with Jarmans "temu-heat" description than explicitly saying its trashy.
I like it rough.Eeeeeesh. Rough.
I just read a letterboxd review (by the WaPo critic Sonny Bunch) calling it Meathead-Heat, cant decide if thats a nicer or meaner term than Temu-HeatYeh I know the BP pod well. I do think Pantera is likely gonna be absolute shit though.
I know it was corny AF and barely any character development but I genuinely enjoyed Ambulance...and other than The Rock I usually hate Michael Bay flicks.that’s a rough weekend dude, I hated Ambulance & Turkey Shoot (don’t think I’ve seen Den yet)
Wakey wakey! Hands off snakey!I know it was corny AF and barely any character development but I genuinely enjoyed Ambulance...and other than The Rock I usually hate Michael Bay flicks.
But yeah Turkey Shoot was terrible. I was tossing up between that and Razorback, clearly made the wrong choice.
Enjoyed her performances in Moulin Rouge, Big Little Lies (TV Show), Lion and Australia.Moulin Rogue.
Also won an Oscar for The Hours (although i cant say i remember that movie well).
I actually think Nicole is generally very good to excellent.
Actually ambulance is probably the temu heat.I know it was corny AF and barely any character development but I genuinely enjoyed Ambulance...and other than The Rock I usually hate Michael Bay flicks.

I love ad astra, magnificent film that got absolutely no loveAd Astra (Rewatch) - Feels like this probably gets lost in the space movie era of the 2010s (Interstellar, The Martian, Gravity), but it might actually be the best. Gets existential dread, the vastness of space but also how alone we are in it, better than any of those films. And it's a top 3 Pitt performance for mine. James Gray doing this right after The Lost City of Z is a wonder, two of the best of that decade. 9.5/10
A Complete Unknown - Liked this for very basic reasons - the music of Bob Dylan. Conventionally told, but what I appreciated most is that it didn't really try to unpack Bob in any meaningful way - an almost impossible task - but rather focused on capturing Bob through the eyes of the people in his life in that moment in time. 8/10
The food sucks, we come here for the ass.
It’s great
Its available at all good book stores......but you have to row there.Den of Thieves 2 got released in the cinemas in the US last week.
I loved Anora, most entertaining Sean Baker movie yet.Saw A Real Pain and Anora last week. Liked the former (although it was a tough watch at times) but didn't rate the latter
