Den of Thieves 2 is already out. In fact I think it's nearly finished its run.

They just did a re rewatchables for it, I personally think its a bit better than garbage Heat but i can see why it gets that tag.

I dont really agree with that, I think its better than that.

If Heat is the peak, The Town/Inside Man is the layer down, Den of Theives would be the one under.

The Garbage version is more like The Vault?

Its semantics but to me garbage versions are trashy, this is better

I was quoting the BP guys and they explained what they mean on latest pod. It's not denigrating DoT, they love it, it's just a description they use for fun b-grade action flicks that resemble more well regarded/celebrated films.
So more in line with Jarmans "temu-heat" description than explicitly saying its trashy.

I do think Pantera is likely gonna be absolute shit though.

I just read a letterboxd review (by the WaPo critic Sonny Bunch) calling it Meathead-Heat, cant decide if thats a nicer or meaner term than Temu-Heat

that’s a rough weekend dude, I hated Ambulance & Turkey Shoot (don’t think I’ve seen Den yet)

I know it was corny AF and barely any character development but I genuinely enjoyed Ambulance...and other than The Rock I usually hate Michael Bay flicks.
But yeah Turkey Shoot was terrible. I was tossing up between that and Razorback, clearly made the wrong choice.

Also won an Oscar for The Hours (although i cant say i remember that movie well).

I actually think Nicole is generally very good to excellent.

Enjoyed her performances in Moulin Rouge, Big Little Lies (TV Show), Lion and Australia.

As to her best performances, clear hands down....

3.5 great watch really like the way they set this one up enjoyed the interesting take on the Werewolf genre

Actually ambulance is probably the temu heat.

Meathead heat… feels less insulting cause all the dudes in it are ****ing jacked as shit.

Ad Astra (Rewatch) - Feels like this probably gets lost in the space movie era of the 2010s (Interstellar, The Martian, Gravity), but it might actually be the best. Gets existential dread, the vastness of space but also how alone we are in it, better than any of those films. And it's a top 3 Pitt performance for mine. James Gray doing this right after The Lost City of Z is a wonder, two of the best of that decade. 9.5/10

A Complete Unknown - Liked this for very basic reasons - the music of Bob Dylan. Conventionally told, but what I appreciated most is that it didn't really try to unpack Bob in any meaningful way - an almost impossible task - but rather focused on capturing Bob through the eyes of the people in his life in that moment in time. 8/10

Speaking of Nicole Kidman, watched To Die For (1995, SBS).

Fun movie. Cut together really cleverly.

Young Joaquin Phoenix gives a typically vulnerable and amazing performance.

Loved the David Cronenberg cameo as "man at lake". 7/10
