All the vic teams vs interstate team grandfinals, I can say that most Victorians that I know were going for the interstate club.
Except for the Doggies in 2016 as they were breaking a 62 year drought

I just can’t watch another GWS Grand Final after 2019. It will be a repeat 100+ point loss in my opinion, especially against Brisbane.
Yeah no one wants to see that but me thinks that this is a different and more battle hardened GWS team. TG at the helm might make a difference as well.

I don’t agree with that either.
Played the weakest Top 8 team in St Kilda and then played a Port Adelaide with woeful skill display. Collingwood is hardly any better so I assume they will have an easy run to the GF before being blown away by Brisbane who will destroy them.

Yeah. Lions have a poor MCG record and GWS were blown out in their last GF appearance

I would not say they have a poor MCG record. Only lost by 1 point in their most recent game to Melbourne at the MCG. They are competitive there.
As a lifelong Brisbane resident I hope you are right, no matter the opponent. Gotta get past your lot next week first though. Would you anticipate a similar blowout score line in a GWS v Blues GF?
I barrack for the Lions so naturally I want them there. It's so hard to pick my most preferred matchup, though.
Giants would be awesome, non-Vic GF but I do share some concerns about it being a blowout, which is great for Brissy but it'd be an anti-climatic way to do it. I'd rather us win with GWS putting up a fight than just blowing them away and I just don't know if they can handle four road trips in a row.

I wouldn’t, but I don’t expect us to get past next week. I don’t think we are good as Brisbane so the margin would be closer if it were to be GWS vs Blues.
Collingwood still the favourite with the bookies but only by a slim margin.

They’d still need to win next week but with their form drop, I am doubtful.
Gotta wonder if travelling three weeks in a row, six day break is gonna hurt the Giants or not, though. They do look fit, probably not going to make a huge difference. But they sure did look flat in that 2019 GF.

You're on the irrelevant Victorian club list along with North, Saints & Dogs.

Reckon it's a harsh comparison.
They were shot physically in 2019. Decimated with injury and clearly went one game too far. The last quarter against Collingwood was a sneak peak into the Grand Final.
Not to mention they were playing a side in the midst of a dynasty. Big case of wrong place, wrong time, and they ran into a yellow & black buzzsaw.
If they win next week, they play a good - but not great - Brisbane team with an MCG hoodoo, or Carlton who are very similar to themselves and on an unbelievable run.
Who knows if they'll win it, or even get past the Pies, but you're being a bit unfair to them saying they're guaranteed to roll over in a GF.
They've been tougher when it matters than Brisbane for instance. Actually made a GF, and been competitive in prelims. This Brisbane team has done neither.
What makes those teams irrelevant? They all have proud histories and loyal supporters. Wealth, popularity and numbers doesn’t necessarily make a club better or on the other hand, irrelevant. Quite an arrogant perspective you have there.

A Brisbane v GWS GF would be the AFL's worst nightmare, they might have to give tickets away to sell out the G for the GF.
No such problems if Collingwood make the GF though so you can bet your bottom dollar that the umpires will favour the Pies in the prelim.

Brisbane and GWS have always been among my second teams, and often my local club too. So no brainer, I’d be deeply invested in that. Also been 17 years since that 04-06 run of non-Vic GFs, way overdue.
The opposite alternative would be fun though too. All 4 matchups hold some appeal for me at the very least, so can’t complain.
