Seems like your question has been answered. But for the sake of reassurance, I was going to say April 22nd as well.

I would say high chance he avoids jail but he won't play anzac day, will come back through the VFL

Is this from personal experience?
In all honesty, I really hope Marley avoids jail/gaol time and I do believe he will.
My only worry is the WA justice system seems a bit different from the eastern states. Not certain of this, but just my view. It may be incorrect.

If Marley avoids Jail, it would be a huge monkey off my back, ive been stressing about this for a while now. Not stressing as its been ruining my life but stressing as in we could lose a future star of the competition and that would annoy me more than anything. Absolute gun he is, i would love for him to available for Anzac day as its my first game for this season, and i see no reason why he couldnt slot straight back into the seniors as he isnt coming back from injury.

If he does go to jail it would be in the 2-3 month vicinity I would say, not career ending

Ur generally considered pretty stiff to get jail time for ur first offence, but the charge being upgraded to GBH will certainly not help his cause

In the assault area, there are many different types in the different states, but usually for your first assault you do not go to jail. GBH is one of the most serious forms of assault though, but for a kid with no criminal history and only a small chance of re-offending in the future I would think his lawyers will be pretty confident of avoiding jail

I think his QC was pretty confident of getting him off but that didn't turn out too well. GBH is a very serious charge.

I'm thinking he's looking at a CCO or suspended sentence, actual gaol time seems a bit overkill in this instance. As for the 11:45am sentence, I doubt it will be that early as his last name starts with W. It'll probably be mid-late afternoon so anywhere after 6pm here in Melbourne.
What do you suppose the judge will have for lunch on April the 22nd?

Will be interesting, WCE Murray Newman who "Judge Staude accepted the crime was at the lower end of the scale in terms of grievous bodily harm and that Newman had no prior record" got 1 year with 6-months non-parole.
