great game by murp on sunday, 33 touches (23 kicks, 10 handballs), 6 marks, 5 tackles, and a great hardball get with 2 min left that sparked simmos goal, will go close to polling 3 votes for the game, perhaps judd will get the 3. GREAT GAME MURPHY!!!

and slaughtered the ball as usual. Couldn't kick straight down a wind tunnel. If he ever wins a Brownlow, it will be proof that the scoring needs to be taken off the umpires.

Who loved his kick with about 3 minutes left, all by himself and he tried to kick it 25 metres and kicked it straight out on the full.

Murph is a tough and knows how to find the ball but my god he is a terrible terrible kick.
You mean in the wet, practically hugging the boundary line and on his left?

Missed it did you when he went straight back, beat a Port player in a one on one and got the ball moving forward again? Did you like his laceout pass to Kreuzer for his third?

Making excuses for his poor disposal again. Seems to be a daily thing at Carlton.
He was standing all by himself and failed to execute a 20 metre pass, in fact failed would be generous, it was worse than that.

Thankfully for Marc that was probably a good example of his kicking as most are much worse than that.

Good to see you avoided my question: Did you see his lace-out pass to Kreuzer or not? Did you see his fantastic hardball get at the crucial time immediately after that out of bounds kick?

If you are going to look at incidents in isolation, gotta take the good with the bad

if murphy is "elite" then there are about 70 other elite midfielders in the afl

Wow.....If there are 70 elite midfielders in the competition, all better than Murphy. Then I guess that means Collingwood don't have one midfielder in the top 70.

Murphy would be your number 1 midfielder, and I think deep down you know it.

swan and pendlebury are better than murphy

lol, keep dreaming buddy.

Swan can't kick but is a decent player, in the Carazzo mould.

Pendlebury is classy, but is a little soft and doesn't like getting his hands dirty. No where near as valuable as Murphy.

I was refering to footskills. But in terms of over all skills...

Colligwood supporter, how much more evidence do you need to realise that Swan, Burns OBree, Lockyer, etc etc are very very ordinary midfield options. Your midfield is a complete disaster and continues to cost you games. No talent, no upside. The young Blues midfield talent advantage was so obvious and massive in the last 1/4 yesterday. :)

...Wow, listen to the hate for Dane Swan. Top few in the brownlow last year, touted by some (ahem) 'experts*' as a top 20 player in the comp... the man is a gun. His kicking is what stops him being elite though.

*I hate referring to experts, because they're knowledge often pales in comparison to some around here, but bigfooty's fantasy with these opinions forces me to conform.
