Tactical masterstrokes not strategic. They were both one offs (or at least the Richmond one was). A strategic masterstroke would be developing a game plan that could be used over a long period. Wallace was a great game day coach, but he was not the coach to develop a team or players. He was pretty much the opposite of Hardwick down to his one great strength being arguably Dimma's weakest point - game day coaching.

Remember, We are talking about a guy who has dubbed himself 'The List Manager' here :D

Yeah, a bit ironic. Though, top be fair, I don't know how much you can blame him for the list as we had no paid recruiting staff until one bloke was appointed part-time in 2007.

Doesnt that mean its only him you can blame given that nowdays the coach wouldnt make all the decisions.

Here's a bit of an old school one.

In 1993 the Ron Barrassi coached Sydney Swans were on a 26 game losing streak. In round 13 1993 they played Melbourne, who'd beaten ladder leaders Essendon the week before. In a massive upset, Sydney kicked 10 goals in the third quarter to eventually beat the Dees by 40 points.

They didn't win another game all season!

That was a great season of footy. As a North fan, watching our 90s team break out was great. But the season was so close. Essendon and Carlton finished equal top with 13.5 wins! St. Kilda was in 12th place with 10 wins!

2007 flogging of Richmond and scoring 222 points. I was hoping we would bounce back after the North loss but never expected to that amount.
