Opinion Where do Gawn, Petracca, and Oliver rank in our all-time greats?

All 3 are easily in the 22 if you were to select the best ever side of MFC players past & present.

Stynes and Gawn would be an interesting ruck combination.

Hard to say easily when you have no idea about the dominant Melbourne sides of the pre 70s. If you wanna say 1970 and after then sure

Hard to compare across generations. I've only been watching since late 90's so both would comfortably make top 5 of who I've watched in terms of overall best players. Maybe Neitz, Jones or Yze in there too.

I did love watching Flash, Robbo, Jurrah and even blokes like Bugg being a pest. Would probably have them as more fun to see, albeit less consistently good.

Oliver better early career. Petracca better late but has a higher ceiling.

Last two games I've been to were that one and Melks winner vs Brisbane.

I think that was the last game of footy I genuinely enjoyed until this year and I switched the campaigner off to start the last in the am and gym. Saw the Viney goal from the top of the square and then watched it on me phone in the gym lol

I genuinely did a Kent inspired chant once. Not a chant exactly, but only because I couldn’t get it to catch on.

It was at a depressing QB and I was surrounded by Collingwood supporters doing that annoying USA! USA! thing for Mason Cox. I waited for a lull and yelled “Go Mighty Canada!” Put everyone off their stride for a bit which was nice.
