Was it better than any of Curnow's seasons? How does it rank compared to C. Curnow, T. Cloke, J. Kennedy, L. Franklin, J. Reiwoldt, T. Hawkins, J. Roughead, J. Cameron, T. Walker, and T. Lynch? I think that about covers the best KPFs of the 2010s and onward.

Jesse seemingly combined Travis Cloke-like contested marking with Josh Kennedy-esque goal-kicking accuracy. That's a deadly combination. An incredibly efficient forward who made the most of his opportunities.

Not at a Buddy 2008 level but very much in the realm of the best seasons that the other forwards have produced.

Given Buddy kicked 113 in 2008 I think Roughead's 75 in the same season is probably the next best season on this list.

2007 stood out for me. I just looked this up

Franklin kicked 73 goals but 62 behinds. He did kick 7 goals vs the crows in that elim final.

Pavlich kicked 72 goals and 48 behinds from 22 games.

Jonothan Brown kicked 77 goals and 38 Behinds from 22 games and did just enough to win the coleman medal. 2007 was his only year he won the coleman medal

I am biased.... I wished Pavliched kicked 7 more goals to tie with Brown that seasons coleman medal.

Hogan has been everything we thought he would be this year. He’s just been a very late bloomer compared to his clear talent as a junior. He and Jezza are clearly the most consistent forwards in the league at the moment.

That was a monster performance last night. It's one reason why GWS putting the cue in the rack early in the last was so dumb. The best player on the ground was sitting at full forward with the ball not getting anywhere near him.
not exactly true. he was getting up the ground to take relief marks on the wing / half back.

He had an impressive season and backed it up with great performances in finals. Shame his performance against the Lions ended up going unrewarded.

I'd always seen him as a bit flakey and inconsistent. He really turned that perception around this year.

Just wanted to say how good it is to see Jesse Hogan become probably the best forward in the comp this year. His attitude at the demons was always horrific, and I think it was just a maturing process that took place and GWS reap the rewards but he definitely was worth the gamble by Freo too.

Hogan kicked 37 of his 77 goals against the eventual finalists.

To put that into context, Franklin's 2008 season, he kicked 50 of 113 goals against the eventual finalists and that was when the competition was made up of 16 teams and you had a final eight.
Very nice.
