Where is Carlton’s depth at? #concerning

Doc, Cottrel, Martin, Silvagni AFL stars. Pitto didn't play with TDK rested. Motlop didn't play. 6 players who have played a lot more AFL than VFL. Also Binns didn't play so with Caroll, Okeefe and Wilson out.

Only 12 AFL listed players played on weekend (which is probably more than most weeks mind you). Half of them very early stages of development. Wouldn't expect much results wise. Silly to compare.
Peel had 9 listed AFL players from Freo on the weekend. Not sure on the point you are trying to make but getting flogged is not good for development.

You aren’t comparing that Micky mouse league with the dominant force that is the VFL, are you?

No wonder Freo oppose a national reserves comp, gotta have a way to win silverware right?

Brayshaw won the league best and fairest last year, bloke wouldn’t get a game in the WRFL
Yet 5 out of 19 mid season draft picks came out of the WAFL. Sounds like a good place to develop AFL talent. The 2nd pick was from Peel.

No one, including Carlton picked up anything from Carlton’s VFL team.

And Blaine Boekhorst is bullying the entire WAFL, after barely registering a stat in the AFL and VFL

Hammer too, couldn’t get a sniff at the worst club in the comp and wins a Sandover

The GFL is honestly a better grade

He’s played 3 games and done nothing. My facts stand up regarding mid season drafting while your bullshit is exactly that.

Development is key here & the AFL rate the WAFL pathway from good teams. Shit teams do not produce good players. VFL being such a higher level in your opinion must mean anything at the bottom is a complete disaster.

Just 9 players out of 22 means the other 13 have a big impact on the result so to say the result is a reflection of the AFL listed depth is a ridiculous concept.

Crazy how you know so little about the WAFL, both those blokes won Sandovers and both would deadset fit in as footballers in the GFL

Blaine struggled in the VFL, goes to the WAFL and wins the whole thing hahahahahahahahaha

You keep hanging your hat on your Mickey Mouse league

I thought you were referring to this season. Blaine clearly developed in the west into a much better footballer than what Carlton could do for him.

To be fair to Blaine he is a huge flog and he would’ve failed wherever he went

You keep enjoying the WAFL silverware because it’s the only look at it you’ve had in your history

Well done on a 2s side made up of 50% non AFL listed players theoretically beating another 2s side made up of over 50% non AFL listed players. Something to really savour.
It's coaching and player development that gets results. Both seems to be dirty words down at Carlton and they are lucky they waited an extra few months last season instead of sacking Voss.

Your drought is one year shorter than ours but you have a lot of extra woodware lying around.

Yep those green shoots, one went onto win a Sandover medal.

Other coaching and player development led to a Brownlow Medalist, 2x Coleman medalists plus guys like Cowan, Motlop, Ollie Hollands, TDK, Walsh, Weitering, Boyd, Cincotta, Owies, Cottrell while our coaching and player devlopment turned around the careers of guys like Pitto, Acres, Docherty, Cerra, Elijah Hollands, Fogarty, Williams, Kennedy, McGovern, Fantasia, Newman, Hewett, Martin and Saad. So many guys playing way better footy at Carlton than they ever did before while so much talent produced from newbies to the system. All thanks to our coaching and player development.

Docherty and Cerra were probably on an upward trajectory anyway but still Carlton did improve them, while maybe Williams and Fantasia aren't playing career best footy, but to name 10 players that Carlton clearly turned into much better players to be sitting 2nd on the ladder is quite some feat. Shame we didn't get to those players earlier, as we seen with McKay, Curnow, Walsh, Weitering and Cripps what can be done when you get the right coaching and player development from the start can do. No surprises the earlier we get them (Docherty B&F, Cerra B&F, Elijah future B&F) the easier it is for us to make them superstars. The later we get them (Fog, McGovern, Acres, Kennedy, Newman, Hewett, Martin, Saad etc) probably don't quite reach that superstar status, shame we didn't get them a couple years earlier to really drum in our coaching and player development.

Yeah we needed a bit of woodware to display our silverware on

You have a good spine plus Walsh and Cripps. The rest have basically been traded in as you botched draft after draft and spent a 1-2 decades at the bottom of the ladder with a revolving door of coaches. Your seconds team is a window into not much changing and the future looking bleak after this run.

I find the most interesting thing is that not one team has had a salary cap breech for the past decade either, not even a little mistake and small fine. It's like the AFL decided to turn a blind eye after the Essendon bowls club turned into a shooting gallery. Must have been great timing for Carlton, considering how the list has been built and the amount of paper bags lying around looking for something to do.

Eli Hollands is a jet/gun pick up we got for peanuts from Gold Coast, just like Jeremy Sharp for Freo.

Kind of ironic that 🤔

TLDR

You forgot Motlop.

Cez turned into Amiss & wingers are a dime a dozen. We found one in the bin over the off season and he's a better kick than Acres.
Fremantle so desperately want a rivalry with Carlton and Carlton fans can’t understand why, perhaps to force some relevancy?
