Just some ramblings pre trade period:
Hard to know what Dean's plans are for next year. At the moment we have so many things going on, and some of the possible player trades appear at odds with what we were told last year.
At present we have Rawlings, Guerra, McKernan, and Harvey headed to North, and little info about departures. The $300,000+ there for Jade would presumably come from Sav's contract but I'd be disappointed if he was to go outright. Then Corey - if Sav stays, where does Corey fit in? And what will that mean for Hale and McIntosh?
While it appears Corey is definitely headed to Arden St, I think I'd prefer to keep Sav and pass on the Corey option. A forward line of Rawlings, Petrie and Rocca, complemented by Motlop, Jones and Grant is sure to create headaches. All have marking ability and all bar Sav are at worst very good on the ground.
We'd then have a backline headed by Colbert at CHB, Watt at Full back, with Archer and Brown lending tall support. Much as i'd like to keep him, I think that leaves Baird as the bloke to go as part of the Rawlings deal.
This may then leave us light on for talls in the twos, particularly with Bourke and Jason also leaving, but that's the risk you take when you're trying to get quality into your starting 22.
Rucks will have to be led by Ports, with Hale as someone who has to play nearly every game next year. We need another in support, and that places our need to get Deluca into the system as a high priority.
Don't know what the point of this was, but was just something to pass the time in this crazy mixed up period before trade week
