Have a look at our draw... Being realistic we got handed the death of all draws.. seriously count the games up that you think we will win.
I did, and that is what i came up with..

you think we will win 7 games....

we'll beat, Port(at least once) freo, collingwood, carlton, hawks, richmond, essendon....i think you'll find we will win more then 7, i listed 7 "definates" there we will beat some of those teams twice, plus beat some class teams, like the crows, swans, dees etc...14+ wins for my liking

I think we will finish 5th to 8th.

Some players form will get better, some players form will get worse - it will depend on their relative influence and also the new guys adding something.

I think Hale and Wells wil definately determine whether this is the year where we really look like a contender. the fact that Wells had a pretty bad injury most of the year, yet still played some great football tells me 2006 is the year. Remember he is yet to turn 21.

Hale I have no doubts will become one of the most important. Looked great in a couple of games and also toughed out some injuries.

If Hay holds down full back - it is massive. I've heard people say Watt for CHB, but I think Brown would be better in that position. If not, Brown can fo forward.

If our backline peforms, we become a real top 4 chance.

Key players I expect improvement from their 2005 form:

Wells
Hale
Harris
Petrie
Brown
Simpson

key players i expect to drop off a bit from 2006:

Archer
Grant
Rocca

Key players who will maintain 2006 standard:

Harvey
Watt
Jones
Thompson

12. Port
13. Richmond
14. Bumbers
15. Carlton
16. Hawthorn

TOUGH DRAW.

12th....We'll be found out against sides with better and quicker midfields...Our best players are the older blokes, with Daniel Wells being the exception....I'll be hoping for the younger players to shift to another gear before I get excited. Additionally, our selections in the National Draft will be important, this year and beyond.....WE NEED QUICK MIDFIELDERS.

5-8th is the best we can hope for i reckon.

Hopefully resulting in blooding lots of young midfielders along the way to give us the premiership in 07.

Sad, but very probable.

On the podium holding up the club's fifth piece of VFL/AFL silverware. Besides that wish, I just care to see more consistancy and urgency. The rest will fall into place if everyone wants it bad enough.

JYD is the right man for the job.

His prediction is the best and most realistic so far.

How is it reallistic when we won 13 games this season and have a better list now than we had in 2005?

7-10
Reasons:
1. I don't think our draw is as good as last year (which is still this year)
2. We've had a good run with injuries the last couple of years, I fear our luck has to run out soon. However, I think we're developing the depth to deal with it better.

I dont know why people think we have a tougher draw next year?

Its no tougher than this year's.

5 away games interstate again, but the SCG game has been replaced by the Tassie game against the Hawks.

We played Sydney, Adelaide, Stkilda & Port twice this year.
Next year we play West Coast, Adelaide, Geelong, Port & Mebourne twice.

Our draw is always going to be tough whilst the interstate teams are so strong.

I thought we'd only win 2 of the first 5 last season so you just never know. The only thing you can say at this time of the year is that it will all depend on injuries and close results. I don't think we'll be a serious challenger next year but 5-12 seems to be a reasonable assessment at this stage.

4-7 but more likely at the higher end. Laidley appears to be moving from the rebuilding phase into a period where he has a fairly clear premiership objective in mind.

Agree, in fact I would go as far as saying 2005's was tougher. That 2 week stay in Adelaide nearly ruined our year, luckily there are several games in between visits to SA this time! Also a slightly better run with prime time scheduling, but still nothing to write home about.

We should at least remain about the same form wise from 2005. I would be surprised if we slipped back as there is so much potential within our squad for improvement. 7th at very worst IMO.

Do we have a better list than last year ? Colby's gone and it's questionable if any of the replacements are any better. Arch, Sav and Simmo are a year older. Wells went backwards last year and there's plenty of kids with potential yet to deliver. Every team turns over players at the end of the year, but it's not always an improvement.

Jeepers, every clubs has the premiership in mind! Building toward a premiership starts somewhere, even Hawthorn would have premiership in mind!

I think we are just at breaking point and bottom six is where we will finish. When we got beat we looked very bad. A couple of games we got out of jail with late comebacks. I could easily see about 8 wins.

The optimism and positivity of some on this board is just so contageous!!!

I can't wait for the season to start so we can start watching North lose and have our BF predictions come true!!!! Yay!!!!1
