I think you've misread people's position.

I find it impressive that a second year player had the cajones to demand better standards from a high profile player, and I imagine most others here feel the same way.

What I want from second year players is to step up on the park! That would impress me! Not some throw away comment. But each to their own.

Agreed, Charmo loved a tangle. It's strange looking back to our wonder years and realising how much the game has changed. We had a team of hard nuts, you couldn't mess with Mal, Leppa, the Scott Boys, Voss, Pikey and co.

Obviously the game isn't so much about toughness anymore, but I would love to see a bit more mongrel from a couple of other players. I reckon Maguire is one of the hardest on our current list, after Rocky and maybe a lesser extent McGrath, there aren't too many others... are there?
