Lol like from 1990-2014, 2017 and 2019???

richmonds premiership years and they still cannot outdraw Collingwood!! In 2010 collingwood drew 1,306,604 yet Richmond cannot even break the 1.2 million mark....
Out of the Roy Morgan bunker. Recovered from 100k Tigers members yet?

thats an impressive number but if you had won the flag in 2018 you wouldve been outdrawn by us. attendances are different now especially in the last few years with closed carparks, train works and 2 new teams that play in a tiny stadium

they may never get as high again across the comp. will be interesting to see if Richmond with a similar fixture, no train works etc can get close.

weve outdrawn you in 3 of the last 5 years for total attendance and have destroyed you in home crowds

destroyed Collingwood in home attendance’s yet Richmond only averaged 900 more per home game then Collingwood. In 2010 Collingwood averaged 13,000 more then Richmond now that is being destroyed

Ummm. 30 years ago Richmond defeated Collingwood in what was at that time the biggest grand final thrashing in VFL history.
You and reality appear to be mortal enemies.

Off topic but 30 years ago Collingwood did a Richmond against Essendon and ended a 32 year flag drought by winning the 1st renamed competition premiership.

Your time compass is way off Grin.

Clearly on the thread title it's wc. Not discounting the casual 90 odd % of Sydney fans who don't know Buddy's first name.

It's a simplistic argument though, there's many metrics to gauge on how 'big' a club is.

Profile:

Nationally right now that is clearly Pies / Tiges, overall that is clearly the Pies

Memberships:

Well then if you gauge it - now - then it's Richmond, overall I don't know - fair chance it's the Pies.

Attendances:

Right now it's probably wc for obvious reasons, over the course since their inception it's clearly the Pies.

On field performance since the 'A' FL: Or better still since WC's inception.

Well clearly that's wc, but what is the marker for 'on field performance'? If it's just flags? If so the Pies shouldn't even be in the conversation nor the Tiges.

The Pies have been an abject failure for 6 decades yet have consistently been the highest profile sporting organisation in the country in that time and probably since their inception. Go figure.

The Tiges have consistently been in dark times for 37 years yet have the highest attendance for a spooner, and consistently good attendance figures during. Go figure.

If it's finals played, won, ladder positions after h&a, well again that's clearly wc, closely followed by the Pies, Tiges a distant 3rd. Go figure.

All I want is another year of false hope that we might finally get that elusive flag after our drought. Bring on GF 45.

comparing 2010 to 2019 is apples and oranges. a lot of things have changed since then as I said in my post

some of the changes were temporary so will be interesting to see if crowds pick up. all I know is Richmond are gaining new young fans at a rapid rate

Why have Richmond and West Coast both FAILED to draw 1.2 million through the gates given they're supposedly so big?

Collingwood are, have always been and will always be the biggest club in Australia.

You know Optus doesnt have unlimited seating right? But they do have a 10 year waiting list for membership if not longer.

its great, doggy or kitty gets a little bed in Tigers colours + a bone and doesnt get counted in the official afl tally which is 103k i might add
LOL...Nah, you just know if there's anything with the word "Membership" in it they'll slide it into your numbers.

nope there is a certain amount you have to pay to be counted in the official afl tally which is 103k

pet memberships (most clubs have em) are not counted in any official afl audited tally

from memory the hawks were the first to offer a pet membership and it was also never counted in their figures

Makes you wonder why they didn't make it higher capacity (if they had the money). From memory West Coast already had a wait list when they were at Subiaco so wouldn't they have some foresight?

Collingwood easily the biggest. Tigers have been nowhere for 30 years until 2017 and 2019 ....so lots of "new supporters" and West Coast have only existed for 30 odd years so anybody over 40 who follows West Coast will have a deep seated connection with the club they first followed.

West coast wanted the stadium to be bigger but fremantle didn't, they would've struggled to turn profits as they've never cracked 50k home attendence other than in 2 derbys. The WA gov designed the stadium anyway, not WC
