Which draftees will be ready to play in 09?

Meaning, are ready for the toll of AFL football.

e.g. I wouldn't say Blease is ready because he is still skinnier then a beanpole, whereas Rich already has he build.

Which highly touted draftees are coming off injuries, and will need to for rehab in 2009?

(Only really worried about Top 20 or so)

David Zaharakis will be ready for round 1. Just missed out on being drafted last year and now has a good shape about him. The dees will try and blood all of their dratees next year you would imagine (at least our 3 inside the top 20) even if they resemble angel hair pasta i.e Morton.

Jack Watts will probably make an appearance towards the end of the year for a couple of games like Jack Grimes did this year.

I think thats pretty accurate. I think first round picks (say the top 10-12) have to play AFL footy nowadays, just the way the system is.

Of last years top 14, I think the only one not to play was Grant from the Bulldogs.

Which was a wasted pick anyway imo.

Natinui, Rich, Hartlett, Watts, Trengove, Schoenmakers, Ziebell, Hill and.. there are more.

They are the ones whom stand out for me.

I was about to post Hill tongue in cheek but you posted him seriously. Strange.

Wouldn't say he is ready TBH. Does attack the contest and not afraid to put his body on the line but he is very light on. Wouldn't rule him out playing later on in the year but would be very surprised if he played in the first few rounds. Saying that, it does depend on which team he goes to, which is the same for every player.

Charlie Sharples would be one that, if drafted, would get a decent run for mine. Played plenty of senior footy this year and i think would adapt pretty well.

Yeah absolutely. I wouldn't mind him at 52. Can break games open.
