Every year when the draw comes out I generally try to plan my 1-2 trips for the year - usually to Mecca.

Next year I'm planning to travel to the big Hawthorn Vs. Melbourne Easter Monday clash and the traditional Hawthorn Vs Essendon game - I'm not sure whether I'll chose the round 6 or return fixture, I'm leaning more towards the round 18 games - I'd hate to see my hard earned go towards the Scum.

That's obviously on top of the round 1 game at the GABBA.

This is probably a question directed more towards our interstate brethren, but what are the/if any matches you are planning to travel to next season?

Aside from the obvious Round 22 match in Sydney, i'll be going up to Brisbane for the Round 1 clash against the Lions. I think that i'll also be heading down for the Round 18 clash vs Essendon.

Gee, I cant wait already. :thumbsu:

I might travel down to Victoria for the Hawthorn Vs. Melbourne Easter Monday clash. I will definately be at the Gabba for our first game, I cannot wait.

I'm planning to be in Melbourne for the first time in nearly ten years early in June, so I've already experienced the game against Essendon in on the calendar.

It should be an experience to remember as it'll be the first time my wife witnesses the real exciting atmosphere of AFL footy. She's been following the Hawks for eight years now, and gets very excited watching games on television so god help any bomber supporters who put sh*t on us.

Well be in Perth the following week, so could see the game against Freo also.

Sydney's a great place for a weekend, and I would think late August/early September would be relatively nice. Great city, great vibe, great pubs, great food and hopefully a great match of footy to see the Hawks consolidate 6th position.

None. Its bad enough coming home for 30 mins after a loss - imagine a 4 hour flight !

Having said that if we make a final, I'll be there no matter where - Its been 5 years now. by my reckoning we are due 5 years in a row !

CEO Robson says that we get to attend 11 matches of the 11 in Melb. and 4 in Tassie, so I'll be doing the 22/4 ,26/5 , 29/7, and 19/8 in Tassie and the other 7 in Melb. The designated away "home" games are Rd.3 Roos, Rd. 6 Dons, Rd. 12 Blues, and Rd. 13 agains the Woods..........The Round 6, agin the Dons, at the "G", at the traditional time of 2:10pm, on a Saturday (A MUST!!) Come on Members start organising your 2007 budget.

planning to head down for one of the tassie games with a few mates. leave melbourne on the friday nite on the spirit of tassie, get a bus to launceston on the saturday then have saturday nite there. sunday at the game and plane home that nite. better prepare the liver.

I'm thinking of travelling to the Hawthorn v Sydney game in round 11. I'm thinking of sitting behind the goals and asking Barry Hall about his GF perfromances, it's obviously a touchy subject with him and may cut him back from 7 goals to 5 :)

I urge all Hawks to travel to Adelaide and give me support fighting off the feral crows and power supporters!!! :)

I'll be at the SA games! If any Port supporters give the WAZZA WAZZA WAZZA chant this year its on:p God I hate the Port supprters. Planning on going to Melbourne for the Doggies game also!

On implulse....I decided to book a day trip flight of the Round 17 Match in Tassie against the Kangaroos....Arrive in Launceston at 9.35am....flight leaves Launceston at 4.35pm same day..

It's cutting it real fine, but the Match is a 1:10pm start so I have an hour to get back to the Airport after the match! We'll see how this experiment works...I really wanted to go!

I will definitely be at the Gabba and Sydney. My New Year's resolution is to fly down to Melbourne for as many of the 'G' games as possible. After all, I have family in my former home city and I should see more of them.

I would like to organise a Hawks BF pre or post gathering at, say, one of the Hilton bars just over the road from the MCG for our first game there. I might even pay the bill for party pies and savs (cheerios) with tomato sauce and, of course mustard. Just a thought. Will a look at it nearer to the event.

Anyone interested in that suggestion?

I'm doing my first road trip next year, down to Tassie for Round Four. Have managed to get the initial leg on frequent flyers, but look like i'll have to pay the return, does anyone know what time the team flies back from Tassie? Is it the flight approximately 2 hours after the final siren, or is that too soon for a professional outfit (to have included warm downs, etc). I wouldn't mind coming back on the same flight.

Hyperswivel, any ideas? You're usually my man 'in the field' for these sorts of queries?

hahah,

Last year they flew back early in the evening after the game I believe, but I couldn't tell you exactly as I wasted a few more days by travelling down to Hobart.

I wouldn't expect they'd fly with the budget airlines, would they? I'd take a look at the Quantas flight.

Yeah, there's an obvious flight a couple of hours after the match that is probably the go. I've asked the club, or left a message, but they probably think I'm a crazy, which, admittedly, isn't that much of a stretch.

Cheers, see you down there then!
