I'm gonna tell my kids that this was the Backstreet Boys
That should have been 3 ELITE talents

Isn't it funny no one has mentioned Dusty.
Yes but is hard to go past Stack, his first season was probably better than Dustin's.

Pity Dimma was too busy taking care of his own desires to take care of this lad in lockdown.

Stack just went for a kebab, Hardwick took missing home cooking to another level, right?

I know it ended shit, and I still have contempt for the Essendon supporting president and Greg Miller's monkeying about but for me, Modern Richmond can be defined as before Wallet and after Wallet.

I’m thinking of ones that have me hope but it was a let down:
Richard Tambling
Aaron Fiora

I thought this kid would become the player dusty ended up being

Absolutely adored this guy, and he showed terrific signs . I think the quote from Flea was “ poise and maturity beyond his years”.
We were so sh&t that we wrecked his career!!

And I loved David “the bun” Honybun

Didn't Banik get chronic fatigue disease?

Problem with Tambling was he was playing Div 2 running rings while Lids, Buddy, Roughead and Co were playing Div 1 and staring also.

He never really played against the best in Div 1

Pretty sure they put on a special NT vs the rest game at Princes Park just before the draft. That's the way I remember it.

1. Macca Banik suffered a huge bout of glandular fever and never recovered from persistent injuries.
2. Macca Banik at 16 he had the rig of a beefy 25 year old. poor fella was never 100%

a lot of our kids have no idea the hurt and suffering we richmond supporters suffered throughout the 90's and late 80's. Hopefully they never do get to feel that pain of false dawns after false dawns again.

club going broke
KB recruiting a full squad of rovers
watching Collingwood win the 1990 flag
Swooper Northey moves North after we make finals for the first time since 1982
Richo's knee collapsing on a crappy SCG symphetic boundary
Ottens moves to Geelong
Brownys leg snapping in 2 places i think Newy broke his leg around the same time.
our single digit picks

Don't forget the coach revolving door. I thought a real low point was when people turned on Spud and started raining saliva on him.

I remember the arrival of that young recruit from the west....Ben Cousins! :grinv1: The media and hype around him donning the yellow sash, was like nothing we had ever seen around our club. I thought he was going to drag us into the finals and teach all the young kids how to become stars (I was also a little concerned he might teach them other things, I must admit too ).

That first game was massive. Biggest crowd that we had dragged through the turnstiles for a long time. The Stands literally shook when he took to the field...and then he did his hammy. I'll never forget the &#%$^ Blues supporters laughing and cheering his injury. Made me despise them forever.
