Which player will be the "should have retired last season" player this year?

Hate to say it, but Pav.
If Freo had a decent KPF option he'd probably retire but seems the type of guy that will put himself through anything for the club

Yeah, I really like Pav but I fear that he will fade out in 2016.

Pav does feel a bit like the Jonno Brown of the year - doesn't really want to play on but convinced to do because the team needs him. A mid-season retirement wouldn't be off the cards, he is one of my favourites though so I'd love to see him bounce back and rediscover some quality form against the odds.

N Riewoldt, Zimmer Harvey and Pavlich...someone close should have told them the times come.

NRoo averaged 1.7 goals per game and nearly 10 marks per game. Harvey had 31 touches and 2 goals to be BOG in the elimination final. Their time is nowhere near come.

Yep agreed - has been useful as a loose man during his career due to reading of the play and marking ability, but not really cut out for that these days. Don't want to see him back there next year at all.
Somehow I feel you're in a 99.99% majority on that.

FFS Scott, not behind the centre line next year, we cannot play him back.

Whoa! We've got a touchy one here!

Boomer does attract strong emotions in the odd handful of randoms.

Can't stand bloody Boomer (and here we go again...)
Maybe your club need to look in the mirror if you think your a special club with stroke and power think again.
Your just like North st Kilda Bulldogs a minor club in victorian football your club arnt a 1950s club anymore.
So in time when the above clubs and your club play at the new ground will you support your club I know I will support my club while the big boys like Collingwood , Hawthorn , Richmond , Essendon and Carlton play at the G.
But remember if Brent Harvey becomes availible as a coach down the track your vile pathetic club with others will be after him as he has something that your club has not had for over 50 years and that is Pride and Sucess at the Highest level in this sport

You've got a real thing going here haven't you. Sort of MCG fixation. Weird. Strange how you use upper case for Pride, Highest and Sucess (whatever you're trying to get across there - hard to say really) but lower case for victorian.

Can't stand bloody Boomer.

You come across as a real DH

Check their stats moron. Theyre not in pav territory
I took the point of the thread that it isn't people who are playing badly now. It is people who will play badly next year, such that you think they've gone one season too long. You can't look at stats for 2016 yet, so checking the stats won't help.

Why are so many people jumping on Pavlich over Riewoldt, considering they averaged comparable numbers in disposals, tackles, and goals? Riewoldt has Pav covered for marks, but I'd say they're both as likely as each other to have gone on one year too long next year.

Because one had better delivery? Pav would have sucked playing for the saints.

Go onto our board.
Pick any game analysis thread, and I mean any.
Tell me how many of them are raving about our forward 50 entries (quick hint: none of them)

Honestly we have about two good players going inside 50 this year in Stephen Hill and David Mundy, and they weren't exactly dominating our I-50 counts at any point this year.

Riewoldt played a lot of football this year across a number of positions. Also missed a chunk of footy to concussion and personal leave

He was selfless up fwd getting membrey, bruce and mccartin into the right spots

He's miles ahead of pav

Not including finals, Pavlich only played three more games than Riewoldt this year. Granted Riewoldt played a lot more around the ground but this hasn't equated to a massive differential in disposal or tackle counts over Pavlich

Also, anyone watching our forward line closely can see how much Pavlich was working to create space for Taberner, Pearce, and Clarke. Unfortunately they're not exactly of the same quality of Bruce Mccartin and Membrey though.

Harvey, Dal Santo, Petrie, Waite, Firroto even Wells will be 31 I reckon any if not all would be a good result.

Look, I understand lads, I really do, it must be hard to see someone humiliate you so many times and keep going strong. But try not to confuse being a whinger with having a legitimate opinion.

Actually, what about Petrie? Wasn't exactly setting the world on fire...

He has kicked 40+ goals every year for the last five years and would very comfortably be in the top 20 kpfs in the game, and he hasn't missed a game through injury in five years. Why would he retire?

Will name two from each club but if the club has only one over 29 they only get one, North and Feeo have 8 players in that category so you could go harder on them if you wanted and Ess, Geel, Hawks and GWS have 5 in that category
