Don't think we've ever had a spread of youth and Vets like this before, normally it would be a rebuild

We really don’t have that many vets. Only Pendles Sidey and Howe. Plenty others age 29 or 30 but these days that isn’t what you’d consider to be old. What we lack is players in the 22-26 age bracket but we don’t seem to be suffering because of that.

Yes but those are generational players not easily replaced, Cox has been important too and Roughy is just a massive loss with the impact it has on Moore and Howe, then at the other extreme is a bunch of brilliant talented kids who we know will be a lot better in a few years but with Billy turning 30 next month and Adams, Crisp and Mihocek turning 30 next year there's no time to wait, just gottta go for it

Depends on how the H&A season ends. If we fizzle out and limp into the top 4 then it has all earmarks of 2002 where we had a horrid finish to the season and somehow mustered one of the great upsets of all time in Adelaide first week of finals.

2018 also in regards to surprise and sudden surge up the ladder. Plenty of similarities.

Definitely 2006. Coming off a hugely underwhelming year, parallels of N Daicos and Pendlebury as players that we snared early first round in the prior year’s draft, a changing of the guard occurring before our eyes with a grand final team from four years previous and bobbling around the top four while probably not being in the class of the teams actually there.

Hopefully the Dogs don’t fall into eighth.

Edit: managed to beat Grand Finalists in Melbourne/West Coast in 2021/2005 as well to add further credibility.

Its like a mix of 2006-2007

The surprise bolt up the ladder to finish 5th in 2006, and playing like the 2007 finals series every 2nd game

Geelong is no where near the monster they were in 2007 this time around

2011. Team is nothing like 2011, but you could comfortably see games like the 2011 Adelaide game at Marvel happen in 2022. Fall behind, look like we can't win, turn it on and away we go. Although we would never win like we did in that game. Nowhere near as fun as a Billy after the siren.
