Franklin is better than Collingwood's alone.
Williams, Bateman, Rioli and Stokes massacre Collingwood's contingnent. Both in talent and runs on the board.

Leon Davis is the only one who could compete as a peer with the Hawk boys. I will give bonus points to Dick who was magnificent on Monday, I look forward to his further development.

I agree Hawks have the best indiginous talent... I believe the Pies are ahead of Essendon in this category...:thumbsu:

That said... Davis and Medhurst are not up their with Franklin, but IMO in the mix with Williams and Rioli. I would put Davis ahead of those guys and ahead of Bateman again IMO...

With Buddy and Cyril, you cant go past the hawks. Add Stokes, Williams & Bateman and thats 5 very good players.

so spot 1 - Hawks

close call between Port and Dons.
Motlop, Pearce and the Burgoynes are all classy players, the former two on top of their game. If the Burgoynes had the same form from 2 years ago, this would be an east split.

Ryder shows a lot of class. major position shift and he has really stepped up. Dempsey and Davey are both great for run, Lovett has been stellar this year. Lovett-Murray has been good in the games he's played. suspension was unfortunate for him. Jetta hasnt been great this year sadly

=2nd Port & Dons

With the quality of rookies still around why did West Coast use their first pick on Bedford. Failed on Geelong's list and now he's in the WAFL reserves. Is he carrying an injury or is there something special I'm not seeing in him?

If you find out what we saw in him can you let me know? Seriously I think the only reason he got picked by us was because he was on Geelong's list before.

So strange, Eagles picks in the main draft seemed so spot on albeit perhaps a little risky in some regards. You can't fault the selection of Cockie but Bedford genuinely surprises me considering who went later in the rookie draft.

Anyway back on topic can't wait to see Naitanui debut ;)

I cant believe this is actually being debated.
Hawthorn by a mile.
Franklin is the best indigenous player in the league, Rioli is a genuine superstar and Bateman is a gun. Williams on his day can be a very damaging player. Cameron Stokes is handy. and can't really comment much or Carl Peterson

throw in Medhurst for Collingwood.

But overall i would say Hawks/Essendon

ROFL dont think so

Hawthorn by a mile almost have the top 3

Franklin, Bateman, Rioli,

We don't have many in terms on quantity, but you'd struggle to find many better quality than Goodes and O'Loughlin.

Agreed, Goodes is IMO the best indigenous player in the league.

People forget he has won 2 brownlows, played in a premiership, and still continues to dominate the competition. The bloke can play anywhere on the ground.

Dick has clearly shown more than Jetta and there couldn't be a more like for like comparison.

Wellingham has shown as much as Dempsey and Cox is pretty good. If I was to rank Collingwood's and Essendon's together it would read...

Davis
Medhurst (although people are telling me he is of asian decent)
Ryder
Lovett
Davey
Wellingham-Dempsey
Dick
Cox

I'd say COllingwood wins in the battle of indiginous players...

I agree dick has shown more than Jetta.
No way has Wellingham shown more than Dempsey though.

I'd now place Ryder above Medhurst on that list also
