Ah the things you hold your hat on when you're stuck at the foot of the table.

Condescending much?

You also wrote in another comparison thread that it was 'embarrassing' that Adelaide was being compared to the crap teams in this thread.

Yet, this thread was:

(a) specifically about youth
(b) started by an Adelaide supporter
(c) started on the back of Adelaide winning the spoon
(d) Adelaide's coming LAST in the poll and
(e) So far, Adelaide have beaten Hawthorn once, by 3 points from a miracle kick in the 3 years since this thread was started AND finished lower on the ladder every season in that time. Not to mention, that Hawthorn's rebuild is on the back of a threepeat and Adelaide's is on the back of achieving nothing.

Maybe tone down the hubris and condescension until you've achieved more than half a season of middle of the road form;)

FTFY.

Wonder if Strapping Young Lad still reckons Amon was a better pickup than Rankine o_O
Context fail, yet again.

I said I’d rather bring 3 players(Meek, Amon and Stephens) in and keep our first rounder, than bring in 1 player(Rankine) and lose a top 5 pick.

3 players v 1 player. That was the point, and I’m still happy with that.

And by the way Amon has had a very good year for us.

lol, as you said it's about youth.

This season is the first time in years that hawthorn's team isn't significantly older than Adelaide's. And the last 2 years all you've managed is to be 1 position ahead of Adelaide, and last year this was only by percentage.

Over the last 4 seasons, Adelaide and Hawthorn have won the same number of premiership points, but Adelaide has a greater percentage, and the crows have been the far younger side on average.

So I wouldn't get so condescending about the ladder if i were you, because you would behind if we extended over the 4 seasons.

On what basis are they guaranteed to be mids?

On exposed form, they are pinch hitting pockets/flankers

Soligo recently has attended less than 12% of CBA's in his last 3 games
it's really not difficult to see how a 2nd player will increase they're midfield time with more fitness and strength as they develop

I'm so sad the crows are last in this poll, yet actually in the top 8 in real life.

Why are you flexing about keeping your first rounder? Your first rounder was never on the table with the players you brought into your club

Say you don't watch the crows without saying you don't watch the crows.
Soligo and Rachele will be mids.
When do you anticipate that?

I've definitely seen Rachele play up the ground at times playing a wing/HFF role but have yet to see him get any extended midfield time. Soligo the same (I feel he's had more exposed midfield time than Rachele TBH).

Not knocking either players. Rate both highly.

I’m not flexing on it, LOL.

My point was always that we brought in 3 players, and kept our first rounder, while Crows brought in 1 player…and then we actually traded up to get a second 1st rounder. That’s a flex, I guess.

This is a great example of the hypocrisy in this thread

For the past 18 months, Hawks fans have told everyone "Will Day will be a midfielder" and were hit with nothing but ridicule and negative responses

But when players who have played less than 40 games and someone dares to question it, its "you dont watch crows games, so you dont know"

Hypocrisy

1 - Hawks
2 - Crows
3 - Roos

Whilst the Roos have some great youth, Wardlaw for example looks like he will be an absolute star, they simply don't have enough compared to the Hawks and Crows.

I feel the Hawks have got some incredible youth in various positions ready to explode.

Crows are in the middle but closer to the Hawks side, in that they have some absolutely elite youth coming through, and then a solid mix of role players and above average etc.

There is a clear delineation for me between the Hawks and Crows vs the Roos.

But all that can quickly change, the Roos look like they'll be adding some more top end talent, and if they nail the picks, the gap narrows.
