Thought it would be an interesting thread to start to see which players of high profiles are going to country leagues next year.

I know in the Geelong region there has been a few already in particular at Geelong West signing Peter Riccardi (Geelong), Nathan Saunders (Nth Ballarat) and now maybe Paul Chambers (Geel/Syd) for 07. North Shore have signed up Werribee Tigers captain Travis Robertson and Lara have got Werribee Full Back Michael Sleeman returning.

Any other signings?

Justin Peckett has been signed to coach Karingal (where he came from before St Kilda). They play in the top division in the Mornington Peninsula league.

Balranald is in the Central Murray League. Adelaide legend Ben Hart has been offered ownership of Balranald Post Office as a sign on incentive for his services in 2007. Jim Jess is also rumoured to be heading to Balranald to undertake there coaching role..

We would take them. Bullen in particular played quite a few AFL games. He is gonna be very very handy in country footy!

Marc Bullen will be an excellent recruit an will dominate that league without doubt!! He started this year with Port Magpies (SANFL) where he was getting close to 30 touches a game most weeks an was one of the clubs best players untill he returned back to Victoria mid year due to a family illness.

these two blokes don't really quailfy

Haynes will dominate any country comp you clown!! He was one of the favourites for the Magery medal until he got suspended.

if you reckon they are gun recuits, you must be s@@ffed in the head buddy

Must have to be someone like Chris Judd to qualify as a gun recruit than do you? You must be a gun yourself to scoff at those two.

You are a complete co ck head rioli brownlow of you think these 2 arent big recruits. both have played AFL and dominated the SANFL before returning to their home states. Will dominate playing for Silvan.

I don't want to miss out on bagging you so I will join in the chorus just in case you couldn't see the pattern forming.

You are an absolute muppet if you think Haynes & Bullen wouldn't be gun recruits to any club below VFL level. And they would be very handy recruits at VFL level too.

When Haynes was at Richmond he used to kill them in the VFL for Coburg and any club would love to have him. Couldn't work out why they didn't play him a bit more for Richmond (I think he was on the rookie list for starters) and at Essendon he played some very good games.

I'll just chuck my two bobs worth in.... I think what he is trying to say is that these two gun footballers dont really count as "gun recruits in country football" just because of the fact that they are professional footballers if you get what it is that im trying to say, noone is doubting their footballing abilities

blokes like those guys are gun recruits to any club but i think what he is more saying is the guys that float around the country leagues and that is all they have ever been is footballers on weekends and average joes during the week...

I don't think he's trying to say that at all.

I think he's an Essendon supporter who reckons those players were no good. That's about the depth of it.

Both Bullen and Haynes will dominate that comp.

Haynes was $4.50 for the Magerey Medal this year before being suspended in the last match. He dominated the SANFL coming in the Top 5 possessions and goalkickers for the Comp. His team only won 2 games.

Bullen was one of Port Adelaide's best before having to return home, as unfortunately his Dad was very ill.

Both were very stiff to be delisted at the Bombers when players like Reynolds, Nash, Henneneman, etc stayed on.

Also, I hear Ben Haynes is starting with Channel 10 Late News replacing Tom Petrovski reading the stock reports.
