Who are the worst 22 players to play for lions / bears or fitzoy in the last seventeen years?

I have to admit, I didn't rate McLaren at all, didn't think he was upto AFL standard. The players around him made him look better than he actually was, I was wrapped when Carlton picked him up.

Hueskes was a good player, whatever you think about the bloke.

Perhaps some a little harsh on Mclaren aswell IMO. Came into the seniors as the 4th best ruckmen because of injury and IMO didn't do that bad a job. I wonder if perhaps we're taking his time at Carlton to much into consideration. Was thrown into a terrible side and expected to be a 1st or 2nd ruckman. In other circumstances, with the right development and circumstances could have gone on to be an AFL standard player. Although if we take the thread title literally then perhaps yes was in the worst 22.

The whole thing is a little silly though, since if we were realistic about it, the list would just be made up of blokes who played 1 or 2 games as rookies or 1st year players.

Wasnt he recruited the same time as Braddy? Billeted a place together.

Nick Trask came to the club in 1996, don't think he played till 1997, I can remember him playing very well in the 1996 AFL lightning premiership (A one weekend competition that we made the grand final in). Had potential but never went on with it. Was a player I did keep an eye on and was always interested to see how he went when in the seniors. Was a smallish player and perhaps went to the wayside when we had guys like Black, Voss, Akermanis, Lappin, Power & hart already filling mid field roles.



P.S. I am very happy you left Sherman off that list Lehban, he should not be even mentioned in this thread.

I actually didn't mind the lightning premiership, would love to see the league experiment with it again one day, so much footy in one weekend, I would be old enough this time to drive myself to it and watch it.

A week or two before the NAB cup instead of the intraclubs would be nice
