Tell me another player who is more Carlton than Fev?

This quote sparked my interest, as I thought Berisha was way off the mark with what he was inferring.

Such that Fev never really was Carlton for mine, and now that Fev definately isn't anymore, I think the debate would be an interesting one as to the names thrown up and the reasons.

My 'most Carlton' player of the current crop would be either Carrazzo or Wiggins, with Kreuzer pipping Murph for most likely youngster to bleed for the guernsey. Seeing Carrots celebrate wins and his reactions to match winning goals for instance, has him firmly in front in my eyes.

Who are yours from our current list?

Wiggins, I'll throw it out there and say Sammy Jacobs:thumbsu: special mention to Scotland even though he started at the pies, yet everyone who puts on the Carlton jumpers bleeds navy blue.

That's so simple it's Bret Thornton his gone through crap since day 1 and now will have to be wondering i hope i don't go through it again but he will give his all.

Houlihan springs to mind, as do Carrazzo and Kade Simpson.

Those guys also come to mind, you feel for Fevola not being the next guy to follow Lance Whitnall 200. Houlihan hopefully can see Fev lost and take it to a new level in 2010 and get that 200 club and those others follow.

Carrazzo loves the club a lot. Life long Blue. Waite similar.

There's a difference between showing a lot of passion on field and loving your club. I think we have a lot of the second category but not enough of the first.

Waite and Wiggins on par with Fev. Still don't understand why we traded the 2009 Coleman medalist and 170+ game player in his prime for getting pissed at the Brownlow. Going to take me ages to get over this one. :)

fev is gone boys and girls build a bridge and get over it, the marriage was over a fair while ago, mathieson was right he didnt have enough respect otherwise he would have changed a long time ago , best thing we have done for years, he didnt even respect his team mates abusing them when they didnt kick it to him

Thats the Mathieson line, but I don't buy it. But you are right - it's over. :)

Jarrad Waite.

Fev did bleed blue more than most. Really wore his heart on his sleeve. He was selfish though when it came to football matters so loses points for that.

I long to see Waitey collecting a premiership medal and looking to the heavens to Vin and kissing that medal. That will be one spine tingling day alright.

No one loved winning in the navy blue more than Fev.
And no-one blamed people other than himself more often when things weren't going right. The "over the years I've been frustrated because people probably don't want to win as much as me" line really, really made me cringe.

If Fev is/was Carlton, then our club was in bad shape. A bloke with so many deficiencies in his game, and continually disrespected the club with his antics off field, and shat in the faces of his teammates so many times on field with pure selfishness and individualism... to say he was the heart of Carlton is a very sad reflection of the character of the playing group.

Hard to say from the outside looking in. Most seem to be naming limited players or hard working, tenacious types who'll give it there all.

Depends on your definition. Is it someone who'll put their body on the line for the sake of the team or someone who truly loves the footy club? On both counts, I'd have to say Simon Wiggins. Just have to look at how much his 100th meant to him and his team mates.

Word is that Shaun Grigg takes massive pride in playing for the Navy Blue. Setanta, Mitch Robinson, Aaron Joseph all bleed blue to.
Setanta. No-one shows as much on-field passion for the jumper as he does. His goal celebrations when he holds out the club emblem are just great.

Did he actually say that?
