Just keep it simple. Tough call really but I would probably say Essendon, but only just.

Both will have no spine in another year or so with retirements and have shizen midfields.

Even in the Hawks deep dark days (2003), we still had Thompsons, Croads, McPharlins etc coming through in the spine.

I know the Pies have Pendlebury and Cloke which is why I put them slightly ahead but there is GAPING holes in both lists, that will only get worse in 2008.

I like Dale Thomas, think he will be a star which is another reason I put them ahead but I am not convinced either team will make the finals for at least 3 - 5 years.

And yet we still finished 5th at the end of the home and away season.
Try to figure that one out.
So,just how bad is Hawthorn then?

Haha - you're a pisser!

FB - JA
CHB - T Walker, though we desperately need a top line CHB
C - D Swan
CHF - T Cloke
FF - S Rusling

Collingwood will have a healthy spine in another year or so, I suggest you look outside the square. Also, there's a boy named Reed. The best U/16 talent in the country. He will be a mobile KPP, preferably backman.

Shizen midfield? Again! Look outside the square...

...Swan, Johnson, Pendlebury, Thomas, Shaws, Nicholls, Clarke and others.
Are my eyes deceiving me? I can't be reading this right - Shizen midfield:confused:

He's good enough though, we want a forward who kicks goals and with his eclipse speed over short distances, he should reside on the forward line somewhere. But he's got to prove his worth in weight...I agree there.

Just feel there is too much pressure on the kid.

If you can get a big quality lumbering full forward, and let Rusling play his natural game, he would be an absolute killer leading forward.

He's quick and a good kick at goal.

Collingwood. By a long way. Essendon just needs an injury-free year, and we will push for the 8. Collingwood one of the, if not the poorest list in the AFL.

Now you have lost me...

He could be an absolute killer leading forward but he is nowhere nears as good as people seem to think he is...

Are these comments really from the same poster?

I would say Collingwood, I think next season will be the first of a few outside the top 8 for them.

Essendon are alright, like it was stated previously, if they can avoid injuries they'll go alright. Should be knocking on the door of the top 8.

I meant he would be a killer leading forward if he wasnt treated as the collingwood forward line messiah.

Would do his best work as a supporting player.

Jesz, how thick are hawks supporters.

The pies finished 5th, Essendon 15th.

Hence Pies >>>>>>> Dons

No potential crap, no "oh but were going to win 5 premierships in a row because Franklin is the next carey, or monfries is the next hird" its about results, and the pies have gotten a finals birth, alot more than the dons and the hawks can say for last season.

What a joke of a thread
Collingwoods list >>>>>>>>> Essendon >>>>>>Daylight>>>>>Daylight again>>>>>Brisbane
You've really got NFI have you.
All those teams you mention would be roughly the same in terms of lack of tallent. Collingwood seems like a slightly better side to some of their more ignorant followers because of the wildly biased draw.
