There wasn’t no interest, it was that Lions had openly committed to him and selected him with their first pickNo one wanted him enough to approach him as a DFA or take him late in the ND/PSD last year, both of which would've just gotten him for free. If we delist him this year after he's probably played no senior games (and no reserves form), it's not going to surprise me if he doesn't see an increase in interest over last year.
I’ve heard Carlton were keen but when a club openly says “we are re-drafting him in the rookie draft” I would think most teams would respect thatWho was interested in him?
Who are we talking about - Archie? There wasn’t no interest, it was that Lions had openly committed to him and selected him with their first pick
It’s really only us and the Suns who will be affected. Some talk on our trade thread re players to go out so thought I'd bump this one, with my update for players OOC 2020 >
Cedric Cox - Really hope he gets another year to show he can step up.
Jacob Allison (R)- Definitely gone.
Toby Wooller - I think we will want to keep him, 1 more year to show what he's got.
Stefan Martin - Retire or 1 more year.
Grant Birchall - If he gets through unscathed 1 more year.
Mitchell Hinge - Needs an opportunity to show what he has or will be delisted.
Ryan Lester - Now a regular, 2 year extension.
Allen Christensen - Doesn't seem to be needed, delisted.
Sam Skinner (R)- Definitely gets 1 more year.
Corey Lyons (R)- Definitely gone.
Matt Eagles (R)- Probably gone.
If list sizes are cut we will obviously have to delist more than I have suggested here, I wonder what options clubs will have that have less players OOC than need to be cut.
Will there be an option to cut players still in contract?(I would think not) so I can't see there being a huge amount of list spaces cut this year, it will be done over multiple years eg. 2020 -2, 2021 -3, 2022 -3.
I agree with most of what you have proposed, Not sure Witho will be pleased to see a 33 year old Birchall get another contract. Maybe 1 year only for Lester, still not convinced he is consistent enough and has some limitations. Some talk on our trade thread re players to go out so thought I'd bump this one, with my update for players OOC 2020 >

Don’t agree with that at all.Should we have kept Josh Walker instead of Ryan Lester? Walker has more upside and can play forward
They do sort of play differently. Josh really is a bit of a one shot pony, in that he is a seriously good contested mark when playing in defence. We WOULD of kept Josh if we knew Adams would strike out and Stef and Archie would get long term injuries.Should we have kept Josh Walker instead of Ryan Lester? Don't think North would let him go given that Josh has been one of their best this season..They do sort of play differently. It would be interesting to know what Lester and Walker were being paid last year?
If Adams misses the rest of the year should we try to lure Josh back?

I am just wondering how severe list sizes have to be cut. Maybe cuts in the soft cap and a strategy to maximise broadcasting rights with a 25 round, instead of the usual 22 could be scheduled. I have mentioned before the NRL have 26 rounds with 16 teams and they also have 3 state of origin matches in a normal season. Depending on COVID situation, 25 weekly AFL rounds allow the previous years top 8 teams to play each other twice, which is arguably more equitable then the usual 22 round fixtures. Possibly because of the terrible situation in Melb, TV ratings are apparently up, and Fox reporting increased sport subscriptions. Pretty sure AFLPA will fight pretty hard to protect players and their rights in the current EBA.
FTFYHeard that Dangerfield is pushing this idea, might have been on FC.

We should just accept that it wa a f***** up decision to let him go and move on..
I really liked Walker.. might of been a best for both sort of deal.We would have kept Walker if it was cheap to do so. He was demanding certain $$ and North were willing to pay it. In the end you can't overpay depth players on the chance people get injured.

Just behind other guys on our list at present for the role he plays, purely depth at this stage of his career, OOC 2021.Where's Rhys Mathieson at with his footy? I can't see much talk about him and only played the one game this year
yes this is a tough one, last year thought he should have got a few games when Rayner was playing pretty ordinary, but Fages kept faith with Cam, so not sure where Wooller fits in.I'd love to see Toby Wooller get a run, but who would have to get injured/suspended/dropped for him to come in? I remember last year people said he should come in for Rayner, but he didn't when Rayner got hurt recently.
But then shouldn't he have come in when Rayner got hurt? I suppose he's fallen further down the pecking order based on this year's form.yes this is a tough one, last year thought he should have got a few games when Rayner was playing pretty ordinary, but Fages kept faith with Cam, so not sure where Wooller fits in.
Maybe he is seen as a third tall type, rather than a half forward like Rayner who can also push into the middle. But then shouldn't he have come in when Rayner got hurt? I suppose he's fallen further down the pecking order based on this year's form.
