Scott Lucas. Only just starting to get plaudits he's deserved for the last 10 years.

Yeah I'm kind of sick of the Scott Lucas under rated thing. We get it, he's very good, we've accepted that for many years. What more do you want?

dictionary.com would be a good place for you to start, champ. :thumbsu:

Gilham is the most under-rated player at Hawthorn without a doubt, and is one of the reasons our defence is under-rated.

From other clubs:

I used to think A. Simpson was extremely under-rated, probably not as suited to the modern game as much, as there are less contests, but is still a little under-rated.

I think Simon Black gets under-rated a lot, even though he's respected, I find he goes under the radar a lot when talking about the best in the comp. He is right up there with anyone IMO.

T. Edwards, S. Thompson, and ta lot of mature players who seem to get forgotten with this new obsession with younger players.

the thread title is underated not worst, he couldn't kick over a peanut if you were lying on the ground.

Jobe Watson had close to 100 clearances last season from limited games time. He is a clearance machine.

He averages more disposals per minute than anyobody in the competition.

He was directly involved in the most amount of goals at Essendon last season (not bad considering he can't kick over a peanut).

Yet you have just stated he is the worst player in the competition.

I think you have just proven how underated he is.

Well done! :thumbsu:

Matty Richardson easily, absolute legend of the game, yet seems to get canned for every little mistake he ever makes. I'll tell you what, if the Tigers hadn't had Richo in the past 5 seasons they would be incredibly lucky to have won any games at all. HE IS the tigers forward line and an exceptionally dedicated player that always wants what's best for the team (I think his quote that he doesn't want to win the goalkicking for something like the 14th time for team success says it all!).

Tim Notting is our most underated player in my opinion, he has a massive kick and is as tough as nails.

Andrew McQualter is highly underrated. He possesses the quality to finish top 5 in the brownlow in the years to come. His core strength along with his composure over the ball is impeccable and his handballing is right up there with the best in the AFL..

Considering he was delisted and is now only on the rookie list, that is a MASSIVE call!

Corey Jones.

He's one of my favourite players from opposition teams, so dangerous around goals and seems to always slip under the radar. Unlucky not to make the All-Australian team last year, however I think his nomination shows that he has certainly earnt the respect of the critics

Agreed about Richo

That's a compelling argument, I have absolutely no come back and you've convinced of every point you made. By the way Marge, I was being sarcastic.

Big difference between underrated on Bigfooty and underrated in the real world. Half of Bigfooty is made up of kids who think 1st-4th yr players that have actually done little or nothing can be somehow underrated.

Even #1 picks like Murphy and Deledio are OVERrated at this point in time after having done little.

Only comment on the good ones that are TRUE stars of the game but dont get the cred nor comment they deserve.

Simpson, McDonald, Edwards, Bruce, Black, Hayes, OKeefe, Richo..and about 50 more.

Seriously underated guys who have been performing for a long time:

McDonald, Tyson Edwards.

One young bloke from my club who has evaded the spotlight, while far lesser talents like Dyson:eek: have hogged it:

Jay Nash.

Super composed kid who has great disposal, he is a lock in the 22 and a fair chunk of people will have never heard of him. Surprising as Essendon gets far to much exposure for where they are at currently.
