That article is from Friday just fyi.Herald Sun reporting today that Carlton, Adelaide and Melbourne all like Jagga Smith. Apparently he won't make it past Melbourne's first pick.
They also confirmed Richmond like Smillie more than Langford.
I posted it on Friday. That article is from Friday just fyi.
Yes.. you so did..I posted it on Friday.
You know agents and journos work more than one year in the job, right?Clubs are willing to exchange information with journos in return for other stuff, but I still think the biggest sources are the managers who are lobbying for their players to go as high as possible
West Coast is a possibility with Hawthorn's F2 and your F3's. We have Banfield, Walley and Evans to match bids on next year.Has surprised many coming to our board to stir up trouble that Draper isn't actually a 'must have' for Crows fans. He's definitely a player we'd like on our list but Lalor is probably the favourite, Smith and Langford have their fans, FOS some but less than the others. Most seem happy to get whoever comes through given the need for a high level midfielder. Not many fans of trading up to 2 given whoever is at 4 will be a great fit for needs and talent.
Putting together the information and misinformation, consensus of likely scenarios is Draper, or if he's gone (to Carlton) then Langford looks next up. In the unlikely situation that Richmond don't take Lalor, that's when a possible trade up to 2 would happen (not for Smith or Draper). Still unlikely though as the reduced points index and its cap at #54, means Adelaide's 3 x 3rd round 2025 picks are worth less than GC's 2025 pick 24 (who are the obvious suitor with another bevy of academy picks on the way). Crows are pretty firm they don't want to slide their pick 1 for a trade up and I doubt they do that, even for Lalor. FOS doesn't seem to have been linked to us at any point.
In terms of likelihood:
Draper 50%
Langford 30%
Smith 15%
Lalor 3%
FOS 2%
You'd think Hawthorn's F2 will push into the 30s next year, not that enticing for North. I'd prefer to keep those 3rds in case we have f/s or academy kids that push up, take whoever slips to 4. Will be a very good player.West Coast is a possibility with Hawthorn's F2 and your F3's. We have Banfield, Walley and Evans to match bids on next year.
I pity your last pick. Normally a first round pick gets a bit of special treatment - your bloke will be pushed down the queue and get number 47 and housed in Keilor.Lalor & Smille have already got their jumper numbers and host familys at the Tigs
