Who Should Be In The Hall Of Fame, and Who Should Be A Legend?

I think this is the problem. There needs to be a Victorian Football Hall of Fame, and a number of lesser inductees purged and transferred.
It would make to much sense to do such a thing. If, hypothetically such a thing did ever happen, players such as Bickley, Bell and O'Loughlin would also need to be transferred out their respective states Hall of Fame as well.

Pray tell how Malcom Greenslade (2.82 goals per game) had a more notable career than Peter McKenna (4.57 goals per game)? McKenna kicked 268 more goals than him from 24 less games. McKenna's goal kicking record is only slightly inferior to someone like Locketts, basically due to injury, he's a borderline legend. McKenna was labelled the 5th Beatle by the media at one stage in the late 60's.

Playing in Sturts 5 x premierships in the 60's doesn't automatically qualify you for the hall of fame either.

Otherwise where's the outrage for Martin Pike?

You have Tony Burgess in there over Geoff Southby? Burgess moved to the VFL in his relative prime as a 24 year old and was ordinary. Southby was arguably Carlton's best player in the 70's in a side that contained Jezza, Doull, Nicholls and Walls.

Barry Davis was good enough the make both North and Essendon's TOTC's, win flags for both and captain both sides.

Bedford was a brownlow winner, a sensational player considered close to the best player in the comp in shit sides for most of his career. As a rover who rested forward he went at almost 2 goals a game...

Most of the players you listed are fully deserving of the Hall.....

Greenslade was a bit more versatile than McKenna, spending time at Full Back and other positions during his career. Yes he was recognised as a key forward for a period, including three premierships (and 9 goals in a Grand Final), but spent a significant time further down the field, particularly around half forward. When he finished up, he was the sixth highest goalkicker in SANFL history.

Sorry, Tony Burgess was a typo - should have been Tony Burgan, Burgess never played for Sturt and was a later era.

All three of those were for achievements in the National competition, and as such should not be relegated to a state level status (whatever the merit of their induction)

Mate, McKenna clearly topped the goal kicking at the only 2 interstate carnivals he played in and he has one of the highest goals/per game averages in history. He was a genuine superstar.

The Victorian side wiped those carnivals from the mid 60's right up until 1979 when WA managed to just beat them.

Essentially right in the same era you are proclaiming as one where a bundle of SA's who played for Sturt deserve to be admitted for 5x flags in a row.

Remember the VFA even competed in those carnivals in the late 60's and didn't disgrace themselves as essentially what was a second division Victorian league.

Are you aware that O'Louglin is already in the South Australian Football Hall of Fame?
