How about trying to entice Gardener over from West Coast....with Staff finishing up most probbaly, would fit straight in and still has > 5 years left in him....would need to get his attitude right, and the change in environment might do him a world of good....thoughts??

No club in the league will touch Gardiner.

One of the last players in the league I would like to see us recruit. Not much use as a forward and we're fine for rucks so no need for him. He is a cancer that would spread through the club infecting all the youngsters we have, he has not changed his attitude or behaviour for all these years, not worth the risk that he would finally come good. And lastly, not worth the risk that he will ever be able to get back to his best form due to his injury problems. 3 games in 2004, 12 games in 2005, 0 games in 2006, doesn't look promising.

No Gardiner. His field kicking was always hit and miss. Has an ungainly style. Reminds me too much of Gaspar when he kicks the thing.

We should not trade any of our first three draft picks, unless we would get someone like Judd (meaning, it wont happen). I'm sick of us trading away our future to get old players, think of the future, not just the next five minutes.

Forth and fifth picks, maybe a trade, such as 55 for Bowden last year. Even that, I would be hesistant, since clubs won't want to give away picks and we need to try and get youth.

How About This?

B. J.Roe/N.Lovett-Murray Hall/Schultz C.Newman
HB. A.Raines J.Bowden J.Sherman/B.Goddard

No Change to Midfield
We have the right mix of players who can play there off an on the bench.
Eg.Hyde, Tuck, Deledio, Cogs and etc

CHF. K.Pettifer N.Brown P.Bowden
FF. L.Brown M.Richardson J.Brennan/T.Thurstans

I picked the back line like that because they have strength & skill for there age and also because they are able to run with the ball up the field but are able to make the ground to get back for the FLOOD. LOL

I thought L.Brown, J.Brennan and T.Thurstans are good choices for our forward line because they are able to take those big marks but also our able to kick goals.

With that sort of forward line it would ease the pressure of players like Richo, Richo and Richo from getting frustrated.

This is a resemblence of what i would like the richmond side to look like in a few yrs to come.

If you dont like or have or own changes shows what you would change.

He is from melbourne, if he wanted to move it would be trade him or lose him for nothing.

The way the Eagles have handled Gardiner shows why they are consistently successful ;)

Would not touch him with a ten foot barge pole .

If he cannot get his act together under a disciplinarian like Worsfold what makes anyone else think they have the answer ?

Thurstans has been really average to poor since the start of last year. We could grab him for nothing and see if we can turn him around. Certainly has potential. Does not look at all comfortable in the Port forward line and also seems one dimensional. He is a forward and a forward only, but I would keep him on the radar atleast.

I think that the way Pettifer is coming along, he could be as good as Brown in the future. He has really lifted his work ethic and has become one of my favourite players.

Carn Tiges!

Givin where plough is taking us.... another tall forward marking option would be handy . Someone who can just stand deep , take half a dozen marks a week and kick three or four each week .

Bloke called Toby Thurstans at Port Adelaide would be handy , out of favour , but was very handy for them in thier premiership year , Victorian who could be picked up for nicks .

:

IHe doesnt take the game seriously, there'd be others better suited to life at Punt rd

I would rather see our own kids develop than poach young talent from other teams.

100% with you.

Trading for someone like Roe will mean all of the development we are putting into Thursfield equates to ZERO.

Thursfield > Roe
Hartigan > NLM

I love Hartigan but NLM>Hartigan.

dont know exactly his name, but there is a player from Port Melbourne i would be looking at. I think his name is Nahas or something like that. Burns the grass and delivers the telling blow. ;)

dont know anything about him, just latched onto ABC2 the the other night and watched Port v Tassie. Might have had one of those games, but he is like lightning and has balance and delivery. Well, he did in this game. Havent got a clue how old he is, looks small and light, but is bloody super quick.

Robin Nahas, tiny rover was at Oakleigh last year. Played with Vic Metro. Handy rover but not the best skills, goes short too often.

did a little research, so was he in the draft last year Weave?
From what i saw last week, he broke the lines with blistering speed and was pretty instrumental in Ports win, with his play. Might have improved from last year.

Victoria Metropolitan has opened its 2005 NAB AFL under-18 championship campaign in terrific style, upsetting the hotly-fancied Western Australia by 27 points on Sunday.

Metro 13.10 (88) defeated the Sandgropers 9.7 (61) in the second match of the division one double-header at Optus Oval.

After winning the division one title in 2004, Vic Metro was expected to be under threat from Western Australia in its opening match, but the home-town side led at every change to outplay the Sandgropers.

Marc Murphy - the son of former VFL/AFL player John - was outstanding with 23 touches. A member of last year's championships, he is eligible for this year's NAB AFL Draft and is in contention to be taken by the Brisbane Lions with the father/son rule.

Nathan Jones racked up 27 disposals - the most for the match - while Robin Nahas was another key possession winner, with 22 touches for Vic Metro.

Up forward for Vic Metro, Beau Dowler finished with four goals, while Simon Phillips chipped in with three goals. Matthew Spangher was another impressive performer.

VICTORIA METROPOLITAN: 4.4 9.7 10.9 13.10 (88)
WESTERN AUSTRALIA: 2.1 3.2 5.5 9.7 (61)
GOALS - Vic Metro: Dowler 4, Phillips 3, Adams, Bentley, Krakouer, McKinley, Murphy, Thomas Western Australia: Heise 2, Kennedy 2, Ballantyne, Gribble, Gumbleton, Oakley-Nicholls, Seal
BEST - Vic Metro: Murphy, Dowler, Jones, Nahas, Phillips, Spangher, McKinley Western Australia: Swallow, Heise, Jetta, Conway, Oakley-Nicholls, Seal
