Over on another thread a few of us have been discussing the Tigers greatest goalsneaks. A few of the Tigerheads have also been throwing in a bit of chat about the greatest Centre Half Forward. CoggaRules even suggested a poll, which I think was a corker of an idea.
Most of the discussion has been between the great Royce Hart and Richo, but Cogga* also threw up a few other names being David Cloke, Paul Bullus and Big Al Martello. Boston Tiger thought that Luke McGuane might be flying under the radar and by the end of his career we might be mentioning his name and greatness in the same sentence (some of us already are )
I've thrown in a couple of other names as well. El Presidente Benny Gale - his best was as a ruckman, but we still loved him in his early days as a CHF even though he couldn't catch a cold.
And Scotty Turner is another. Mostly played at fullback but who could forget that semi against Essendon in 95 when he was swung to CHF after half time. I've still got goosebumps. I wonder if Michael Laffy had been switched from full back to CHF whether we be talking about him in this company.
And a few people have rightly pointed out that Andrew Kellaway wasn't a goalsneak, so those 12 goals he kicked in 2000 probably have him better placed in this thread.
I'm sure fans have other favorites to mention. I'm not too familiar with names of our CHFs BR (before Royce) but I'm sure a few of our more senior members could mention some (not mentioning any names, some folks around here are a bit sensitive about their age)
* Mr CoggaRules, I hope I'm not being too informal calling you Cogga, but after the marketing thread I feel like I've gotten to know you fairly intimately - in a platonic way of course.
