They're not laughing at missing the top four, Hawthorn could easily miss the top four... They're laughing at you, and your post.

And this post that you just wrote is even funnier, you show an extreme lack of self-awareness.
Laughing because I suggested top 4 is difficult?
Gee you guys are very sensitive

Seems you haven't read enough about how Newcombe is as good as Cripps, Day will be the best player in the league, their entire backline is AA level stars and their depth is the best to ever exist.

Hawks won't lose a game this year.

According to their supporters at least 🤡

For the record, I think they are a genuine finals show just not sold on the top4 credentials

It's hardly controversial

Calm down muscles you'll give yourself a nosebleed. Other clubs supporters are allowed to be positive not just Carlton

Within reason sure. Hawks fans this off season are more along the lines of North supporters who thought they were absolute locks to make finals in 2024.

Hawks have built a good list and have a very good coach, but the chat from their fans make it sound like anything less than a flag would be a dramatic underperformance in 2025.

A team that should of made a prelim if Sicily kicks like usual that added Barrass and Battle and a fit Day? I dont like them but i can see why they're excited

Optimism it's the basis of every premiership season. Given our season last year and our additions and our pre season thus far. It's hard not to be optimistic as a hawthorn supporter
I honestly think it counts for something TFP. I mean, a narrative can become dominant and sport is a confidence game.

And the narrative is ..Hawthorn are often very good.

Gavin Excell - I think your points have been very measured and I do not question your posts at all. your perspective appears to be an objective assessment

But I also know that the prospect of Hawthorn winning a flag soon would thoroughly displease you

This (last sentence) is correct
From a dispassionate perspective (if possible) is that I think the lack of tall forwards, compounded by injury to Lewis and Dear, will be the achilles

I actually agree although note that both will be back sometime during the year. I also think the addition of Battle and Barras means someone like Sicily can go forward so…

I admire your commitment to a dispassionate appraisal of Hawthorn’s chances this year.

I have a strong commitment to only offer pithy and threadbare commentary

Yeah it’s a worry and we would love to have Dear and Lewis out there. Hoping they both can get back at some stage during the season.

But we still have Chol. And then we have Ramsden. He has finally put on some size after a couple of preseasons, taken a couple of strong pack marks during match sims, mobile, athletic and has a big tank for his size. I reckon he could be an option to play the role of at least bringing the ball to ground in the forward line and provide some relief in the ruck. Here’s your chance young man if you are given the opportunity grab it with both hands.

Gotta remember they will have Wiz, Ginni, Moore, MacDonald at their feet. This collective group can and still will create havoc. Hoping the Hawks depth on every line will cover injuries during a tough long year. I don’t want to hear about excuses! Time will tell I guess
