A side with Carlton's terrible small forwards can't deal with missing Curnow. Their top 4 credentials hang on him being healthy and dominant this season.

Even so, their ball use going forward is a bit of a mess - also they are prone to both costly turnovers and panicky defensive efforts against quick counter attacks. Newman is a pretty big loss.

There's question marks over their squad depth, bottom 8-10 players and game plan.

I still think they'll bulldoze a lot of sides this season but when they're bad, they're really bad.

I'll be honest if Curnow comes back next week and magically fixes all our issues up forward I'll be just as pissed as tonight. The rest of them don't deserve to be on minimum wage let alone get an AFL players contract. Having one player make everyone look good isn't a healthy system
