Preview Who will be Mr September/October?

Last year we went into the finals series, and the likes of Sidebottom, Reid and especially Dale Thomas "grew a leg" and made legends out of themselves.

So I ask;

Who will be Mr September (and hopefully October) this year?

Who will be the player who goes from having either an average or poor home and away season to then become part of our clubs great history as he becomes the player of the finals series for us.

For me, It's Dayne Beams.

Beams has had an injury interrupted season like so many others, but over the past few weeks he seems to have taken that next step and become a top class midfielder. He also has a great record against some of our likely finals opponents, especially the Cats.

(I have deliberately left out the likes of Cloke, Pendles and Swan, because we know they will perform anyway).:):thumbsu:

GO PIES.:D:thumbsu:

Good Call Mattys, i agree Beamer will step up big time this finals series and i got the feeling a 30 possesion game plus 3 or 4 goals is not far away.

I would also include Swanny though, before the Geelong game he looked sharper and quicker than i have seen him and im tipping he will absolutey destroy it next week and carry that form through.

There a lot of blokes who will be out to restore a bit of personel pride after friday night so it could be any one of 22 that takes it to another level.

Beams is in that Kind of Form as he could be a Player who makes a Name of himself over the Next Month.

I bring another Name up that could Possibly do it

Alex Fasolo

Still a few years away from Reaching his Potential but I reckon this Kid could make a name of himself during the Finals with the Excitement Brand of Footy he Plays and goes with the Cockiness he has. I can just see him having Impact on the Games in the Finals coming off as a Sub and maybe if he plays well in the QF he might come on as a Best 21

It's got to be Leon doesn't it? How good would it be for him to shake the tag of not being able to preform in finals and lead the club to a premiership in his last year!

It would be a great way to end his Career to have a Fantastic Final Series and help us to a Flag.

Also Andrew Krakouer is another one who can make a Difference

Heath Shaw

This
If it isn't enough Heater bleeds Black and White and on the verge of being elite he will feel indebted to the Club and apparently is the fittest he's ever been.

Heath Shaw, the floor is yours.

I'm going with Smiddaz and predicting Sidebottom, who loves that sort of atmosphere, to just burst onto the scene again and have a ripping finals series. If we make Grand Final day, I'd go and put a quick $10-20 on him for the Norm Smith. History has shown he just lifts in finals atmosphere.

I'm going Didak, he looks like he's running well, his marking isn't there because he still looks reluctant to put the pec under a lot of pressure but just his game against Freo where he had the side step moving and he's accumulating plenty of ball. I really want him to rock it.
Plays well against West Coast too.

Beams for sure. Is full of confidence at the moment, loves hard contested footy, he will eat up the big stage with the experience from last year under his belt.

Leon is the one I really want to tear it up, particularly if we make the GF. I have full confidence that he will.

Initially I thought Pendles, Daisy, Swanny, Didak, Shaw or Leon.

Before opening the thread I thought who's currently in the best form and fairly rested.

Dayne Beams. Look out.

Also Leon or Heath Shaw will carve it up. You cannot stop 2 HBF with their ability.

Before I opened this thread was thinking Beams or Leon, but lots ahve said them.

So, I'll say ( assuming he actually gets out there! ) Maxwell.

And my plan B if he doesn't....Dawesome. Who looked to be getting his touch back the other night, and much attention will be on Cloke, so Dawes is my sleeper.

Will be really interested to see how Sidey goes...is he a true finals specialist, or did he strike it lucky a few times?
Krak will be fascinating to see how he fares with the extra pressure where small forwards often don't get much tme or space to work in.
Expect Blair to be good aswell.
Ball will be fantastic, but so much of what he does gets missed. He'll be diabolical in his attack on the ball.
Heater also will be fascinating to see how he goes...eight weeks out on one hand, fitter and possibly more desperate than ever on the other.
Tarrant won't leave anything in the sheds either.

Great thread matty ... can't wait now the real stuff starts

Pendlebury is a very good finals player and I think he will be huge for us again.

Krakouer has finals player written all over him and you can just see him exploding in 1 or 2 games.

Sidebottom we know can produce in the big games.

Dale Thomas when back in the lineup will be super eager to have an impact.

H.Shaw should come back hard and eager to prove a point.

Also lastly Harry O + Didak will likely want to prove a point since they have both had pretty average seasons.

Got good feelings about fanta pants!

I also really want to see Leon do well.

I think the real heroics will come from the familiar names of Pendlebury, Ball, Swan, Cloke and Reid though. Swan has another gear he has only showed in part this season.
