Lyons was never a reality - just click bait and a laugh by a certain former Alelaide player.

Pyke or Williams might still be a possibility as assistants or with development roles. Likewise there might still be a chance for one of the up and commers to work on the coaching panel.

Patch will have had a taste and he's going to add a bit more to his resume but likely to return to the VFL to serve out his time until the right opportunity turns up (hopefully it will be a good one for him).

Anybody disputing that apart from those who have inside word that we already signed up Lyons (I am not paying attention to that story)?

There's surely no way Amarfio would allow himself to be photographed with Buckley in public if we were serious about getting him as a coach. Surely those conversations are had in a more private setting

Of course if it is Buckley I think that has the potential to be a terrific appointment, his history with NMFC notwithstanding

Could be that they are approaching Bucks to be part of a selection panel if he’s set on not being interested in coaching next year. But if he is interested I had Buckley below Clarko and Simpson on my order of preference. Would be more then ok with it.

I'm a bit mixed with Buckley. On one hand he'd probably bring a lot of members with his star power, would stand up to the media, raise our profile and he somehow got a pretty average Collingwood side a goal away from premiership when they had no business even getting that far...on the other, he's rejected our club on so many occasions before and has had his fair share of player problems and off field controversies..

Well below several others as my first choice but I'd take him over Lyon I guess
