See this has been bothering me for a week now. I thought you were not allowed to interview assistants that are still in the finals.... yet twice now i have read that the Lions have interview Simpson. If this is the case have we been doing the same with Summa and Simpson?

You're allowed to interview staff whenever you want - heck if a assistance wants, they could walk out and start at a new club mid season - barring any contract issues.

Collingwood stood down a coach a couple of years ago that was appointed a senior coach at another club with the Pies were still in finals.

It's usually the assistants themselves that may say 'wait till after finals' - not any rules.

So just to be sure if Longmuir resigned does that make him the only coach we actually have at the moment (except Burns for obvious reasons)

Looks like a race between 3 now Burns, Summa, Simpson in that order. I really think we will go a new to head coach coach also and not make a play for an experienced one. Hinkley, Scotts, Longmire, Sanderson(first year anyway) all have been pretty successful in their 1st roles as head coach so I am not too worried about getting an unproven head coach.

I smell a bit of BS on the Scott Watters story.
But still I don't think he is as bad a coach as people seem to think.

Looks like Al Clarkson may be a shot now!

He wants Brown. and if you cant get him to st kilda, then you gotta change clubs you coach.

watters is a freo flog, but i dont think he is a bad coach. saints have been very competative this year, which is remarkable given than their key plaeyrs are old and injured. definately a capable coach. we could do worse. his win/loss doesn't mean anything. circumstances need to be taken into account.

No, if he resigned he would have gone like the 5 others, he, however, re-signed, which would make him the only coach with Burns, although Teague is still on the eagles web page???o_O

Yes, I'm in a smart arse mood.

For me it would be sumich as head coach voss as an assistant (midfield preferred) and state leagues or steal someone else for defensive coach waiting for glass or selwood to take over
