Roos signed on for only 2 years, maybe we can get Ken Judge back on a 2 year deal and then swoop on an out of contract Roos when he realises coaching Melbourne is a lost cause ;)

Why did Woosha not make his intentions clear earlier. Wanting two more years, presentations to the board, blah blah blah, to quitting?? He clearly didn't want to be coaching this year let alone the next two years! We could have made a proper pitch to Roos and possibly gotten the best available coach.

I'd say when push came to shove, Woosh got pushed. Those last 3 games were the killer.

Is the general belief that woosha quit willingly? Surely he was pushed

The whole thing has pissed me right off! First Woosh says he wants to stay, so Roos would have made his mind up a few days ago probably, then Woosh realises it's all too hard and our list is rubbish, so he walks/gets pushed, by then Roos is gone and we have to settle for someone else. If our useless f**king suits give the job to Scott Burns I will f**king go ape. It also pisses me off that the main reaosn Roos would have gone to Melbourne is because of the extra cash thrown in by the AFL, why should a club that get's a 500k fine for tanking, then get given 2.5mil to help them out because they can't even f**king tank properly!! 2013 Please, kindly F**K right off. We may as well give the job to old man Sheedy, the whole f**king league has gone crazy, let's follow!!!

I doubt roos would have considered us anyway. I think the shambles that is Melbourne may even appeal to him, if he pulls that off... Also he wasn't keen moving to QLD, I doubt WA would be any different.

Basically just don't want Scott Burns. Might be harsh to blame all the midfiled problems on him but I don't think we should get anyone who has worked under woosh for so long. Unless he had some good idea's but was never able to get them past Woosh, I guess we don't really know what sort of a coach he was/is but I would not be very happy if we just promoted him straight away.

On to our options. Just going on what we know, Peter Sumich seems as good as any available. He was in charge of our midfield which was great, last couple of years at WC was fwd line coach iirc, did good things there. Apparently doing well at Freo. Working under Woosh and now Lyon is another positive.

I recall a lot of Eagles fans disliked him, but I think that was mainly because of his facial expressions or something stupid.

Mark Williams for me - our so-called stars need a bit of his motivation to get the best out of themselves.

Might also get Conca and Martin to come across for peanuts. Yay!

I know it's a Robert Walls article but he does make some good points about how under resourced/unsupported Voss was at Brisbane - with 5 years experience and lessons learned from his own mistakes at Brisbane he would certainly be worth strong consideration.

Burns would almost certainly be putting his hand up - was it last year or the year before though that he withdrew his application for a coaching position because after the initial interview he realised he wasn't ready (it was either the Adelaide job or the Port Adelaide one). Pretty sure it was Adelaide which means it was two years ago so maybe he'll believe he's ready especially at a club he is now familiar with

Also I hope that Worsfold leaving doesn't stop the club from addressing other areas of concern that we have like recruitment, player development and conditioning as these have also been shown to have been below the standards required
