Apparently Mark Harvey wants to move back to Perth. Do we want him as an assistant coach?

id take him and put him as our midfield coach. he is the reason why the freo midfield is decent.

Congratulations to Adam Simpson and welcome to the club. Hope your hard and tough and clean out a few and introduce a similar game plan to the Hawks and even some strategic recruiting like the Hawks have done.

I have to say after not getting the best in Clarko I wanted Suma and I am gutted for him that he didn’t get a chance to show his wares. I thought his CV stacked up and was the best of the rest in my opinion. He would of have had a great list to work with and would of shone as a coach. Not to be but I just hope West Coast didn’t chose the best PowerPoint presentation and got the best coach as we are not employing someone to read the news it’s about the coach barking instructions and teaching.

I’d just like to add this. Did they choose Simpson because he was ‘associated’ with the premiers. If he was an assistant at a Bulldogs, Saints or a club at that level would have he been considered? It just sounds like if your to be an assistant and have ambitions to be a senior coach no matter how good you are you better get to a top side to have any chance.

Yeah I'd be keen. Freos success (relatively speaking) can't be put down to just two years of Lyon, some of the credit surely has to go to Harvey.

Haven't seen him coach first hand or anything but I think you guys have done very well here.

Extremely consistent player who was a junior through some of the clubs most successful times then captained the club admirably during some of the hardest times a club can go through. Got the best out of himself and was just a very smart, honest player. Went to Hawthorn afterwards and guys like Mitchell raved about him, eventually being involved in his 3rd premiership.

Sad to think he may be lost on us now.

I'd employ him just so the Derby's got more interesting, I would expect Harvey would go the extra distance to beat those putrid purple ****ters.

Good post m8. Agree intirely re Suma. However i will get behind Simpson 110%....and from what ive read, including Pagans thoughts, he sounds like quality. Have watched him on tv coaching at the Hawks and seems very competent, as was Suma. I believe that Simpson, and Suma would have too, will weedout a few personality traits that we have. Pagan has made it clear that Simpson is rock solid mentally....which is good to hear. We definitely dont need a cry pants Neeldy!! Clarko and the Hawks players have been impressed with Simpson....so we look good going forwards.
I dont agree that Clarko is the best coach, he is one of the best coaches....that thinking is just flavour of the day. Only one team can win the flag each yr, and therefore only one coach can win the flag each yr......but during a season there are many outstanding coaching performances.

We were decimated by injury this yr......its a fact....and the guys out were critical. Nic Nat was unfit all yr...so that just hammered our midfield. Shuey was stuffed all yr. Rosa was unfit. Lecca was hurting, Hurn missed a massive chunk. All the guys out were our most important in their area. This injury load made other players step up...which will only help the overall team performance going forwards.
With a fit side, we could easily make the four next yr. Congrats to Adam Simpson....onwards and upwards. And thankyou Woosh.

I think it's hard for the bloke to come straight over here and have a press conference having not personally met the players and to be asked some of the questions he was. Played it very well, I'm excited for what the future of the Eagles could be.
