Worsfold has said the Eagles consider their 1st round pick tradeable if there's an offer good enough. I was just curious who Dockers supporters would consider trading for say pick 6?

But seriously i doubt we would trade anyone to the Eagles.

Its an unspoken rule not to trade you guys. Just like players don't report each-other.

You guys dont want Kane Lucas anymore?

Point 1 forbids it.

  1. Never trade with a cross town rival
  2. Never trade a number 1 pick
  3. Never trade a number 2 pick
  4. Consider trading a number 3 pick and then don't do it
  5. Know where your list is at all times in terms of development
  6. Draft best possible
  7. If all things are equal draft the non-________/better person
  8. Still a tie draft for position
  9. Draft for footy attributes first and athletic prowess second
  10. If you ignore rules 6-8 do it only from round 3 of the draft
  11. if you are going to screw around and experiment do it with Round 4 of the draft +
  12. At least one of your rookies should be a young as possible freak or able to do something freaky (if desperate just draft a freaky name)

I don't think WC has any intention of parting with that pick ...every player of ours you would want - we would rate too high.

They want a small forward right how about Ballantyne and our 3rd for pick 6.

I think there are probably 3 small forwards in the league worth pick 6 and the Eagles already have one of them.

Exactly Moo.
Considering that silver and sand has gone to every other team's board and asked the same question, my money is on him being a Worsfold plant.

So, to give you something to report back to your master, you may have as many of the following players as you like for your first pick:

Browne
Murphy
Peake
Campbell
Gilmore
Head
O'Brien
Drum

We'll even throw in Malaxos as an assistant coach if it will help seal the deal.

Now go away...

Why the hell would anyone trade a very early pick for a small forward, seems really strange considering that they're an A grade midfielder away from being a pretty good side.

Think the idea is LeCras is an A grade midfielder so a new small forward would release him to play as a midfielder. This would suggest to me we were right to pick up Balla where we did - reckon the Eagles would have grabbed him soon after if we waited another round or two.

You've asked exactly the same question I've been asking all week. you could pick up 2 or 3 small forwards that can put defensive pressure on in the later rounds or even rookie round. If all you want is flat out defensive pressure, then I would take Potente from Swans in the rookie rounds.

I can only think of Rioli, Leon Davis and Didak (if he's classed as a small fwd) as small forwards worth pick 6, and Davis' age probably wouldn't make it worthwhile unless you thought your side could win a flag soon.

Steve johnson, chapman, higgens... there are plenty

Maybe if you define small forward as any other forward who's not a KPP. I don't really class any of those as "small forwards" in the quick, goalsneak sense, Johnson and Chapman are more marking half forwards and Higgins is a half-forward/midfielder. Chapman is a bit old to command pick 6.

And Johnson has a limited shelf life due to injuries/surgery/ankles
