I want them to not lie and disinform about it, like the Oz does and the vast majority of Murdoch media.

Writing an article about dry areas, wind, arson and potential faulty equipment playing a large part in these fires is not disinformation or lying.
They should be stating why it’s dry, has it got drier, and the risks around this.
It’s lacking context.

No it's not, but it becomes propaganda when they do their utmost to diminish and deny the impact of climate change.

I never said climate change is the sole reason for bushfires. Do you think I am dumb?
There is always a proximate cause such as arson, lightning, faulty equipment, Ivan the careless smoker etc. So some folks argue climate change never causes bushfires, this is line the climate change deniers like the Australian does constantly. However the proximate cause occurs within a context and unfortunately for us that context is a warming world, with many places becoming much drier and in some cases subject to stronger winds and storms. There is good scientific evidence bushfires and wild fires are becoming much more common and extensive over the last couple of decades. There is good evidence climate change is the key.

During our last terrible bushfires the Australian kept running a propaganda campaign which involved two main lines of attack. The first was to concentrate on the proximate cause and ignore or deny the effects of a warming climate completely. The second was to run a series of climate change denial articles. They really ramped it up at that time. Over a period of a few months I counted 44 climate change denial articles compared to 13 which would be considered more balanced. It was propaganda, not news they were running.

When they discovered the poetry ‘of droughts and flooding rains’ and repeated ad nauseum

Anything but the facts, anything but the truth, anything but the scientific consensus and proven models, anything, tiny fish, woke, no water, anything but anthropogenic climate change.
Pfft

From the statement by David Sherborne, Harry's legal counsel:

“In a monumental victory today, News UK has admitted that the Sun, the flagship title for Rupert Murdoch’s UK media empire, has indeed engaged in illegal practices.”

The case was “vindication for the hundreds of other claimants who were strongarmed into settling”, said Sherborne.

After NGN spent “more than a billion pounds” in payouts and legal costs, “to prevent the full picture from coming out, News UK is finally held to account for its illegal actions and its blatant disregard for the law”.

He added: “The truth that has now been exposed is that NGN unlawfully engaged more than 100 private investigators over at least 16 years on more than 35,000 occasions. This happened as much at the Sun as it did at the News of the World, with the knowledge of all the editors and executives, going to the very top of the company.

“What’s even worse is that in the wake of the 2006 arrest of a royal correspondent, there was an extensive conspiracy to cover up what really had been going on and who knew about it.

“Senior executives deliberately obstructed justice by deleting over 30m emails, destroying backup tapes, and making false denials – all in the face of an ongoing police investigation. They then repeatedly lied under oath to cover their tracks, both in court and at the Leveson public inquiry.”

Sherborne added: “At her trial in 2014, Rebekah Brooks, said: ‘When I was editor of the Sun we ran a clean ship.’ Now, 10 years later when she is CEO of the company, they now admit, when she was editor of the Sun, they ran a criminal enterprise.

“Many of those behind these unlawful practices remain firmly entrenched in senior positions today, both within News UK and other media outlets across the world.”

What a fundamentally disgusting business model.

It’s why 90% of the negative stuff is written about them.

Harry was probably naive to go after them, but he’s a modern day hero, but you won’t read about that in the current media

My first boss in England was mates with a guy who owned a pub on Eton High Street when the boys were at school there and he said you could tell the pi's and media types trying to get something on them. It was a tourist pub so you get all sorts but he said they'd more often than not come in in pairs, as plainly dressed as possible, order a half of something non alcoholic and retire to a discrete corner.

I think Rupert Murdoch is almost as dangerous - if not more dangerous - than the likes of Donald Trump. He enables such authoritarians and right-wing populists by using a huge media empire to act as their free propaganda branch.

The Murdoch empire puts the 'popular' in populist. It amplifies hard-right ideology and makes it more popular than it otherwise would be. The most famous propagandist in history, Joseph Goebbels, said it himself that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. You can do a lot of repeating when you own much of the world's online, newspaper and TV reach.
