Nope that would be a reason...assistants have always left finals teams to get going with a club should they get the position...if it is the case it would be a bad look on our club as a new coach can feel the power to take the position, but Ill get back to you when im ready

I could very well be wrong, But I thought I heard on radio that there is a new rule that says assist/coaches cant leave existing club in the lurch if involved in the finals, to move on to a new club....something along those lines anyway.

not sure...must be a new rule if the case.

But I don't see why a coach cant be announced and cont assistant coaching...he only needs to start helping in player retention straight away. The rest can wait

There's the possibility that we have signed Craig as the head coach and a senior assistant currently involved in finals as the heir apparent. Would explain they are waiting till after the finals to announce.

Hope that isn't the case, the appointment of Craig hints towards everyone else we wanted turned us down.

Not sure a assistant in a finals team would move to the lions for the same role

Not sure about Craig mentoring an assistant like Richardson or Tudor or for that matter any assistant..might be wrong but think that boat has sailed...Just seems strange to put someone in the role as mentor to reach the boards KPI's...When the board will have Leigh on it... surely they'd be utilizing him for that as on the job training for an assistant.

I completely agree. I don't Craig is what we need right now. Just think its strange with all the rumored player exodus and the suggestions we are heavily in to him as well Angus' proposed succession plan, it might explain why we're not announcing anything immediately. TBH don't know what the board is thinking, have very little confidence right now, just wanna see our house in order asap before too much damage is done.

From my experience which includes having worked with Craigy in his early days at Norwood, I think you are being a bit harsh. Certainly in his last 2 seasons at Adelaide Craigy's workaholic tendencies and stubbornness could have been managed better. He is an enlightened thinker who builds fantastic relationships with the players. McLeod Riccuito and Dangerfield loved him , like many of the Melbourne players have said. For much of his time at Adelaide he was outstanding and in another environment he may just be a huge success , he would not be the first coach in a professional sport to be a great success in their second appointment. Good luck .. I do understand your frustrations, this year Brisbane appeared to turn the corner in the second half of season. Fevola - coach killer!!

I would be very surprised if Craig coached us. I wouldn't be surprised if Leigh Tudor was coach with Neil Craig as a senior Bomber Thompson-like figure at Essendon.

apparently did well at the Tigers as a development coach.

Did alright in a similar role with us too. I tend to think that's his niche. I've noticed when he tweets it's usually about the Pies young brigade.

It would be funny if Voss ended up at the Crows along with Polec, wonder if he still would want to play there if Voss became his coach again.

Can't complain about homesickness when your at home.

I'm starting to feel very confident that Craig mustn't be in the frame.

With all the other crap flying around at the moment, it's been universally agreed that we need to steady the ship by appointing a coach as a matter of urgency.

If Craig hasn't been appointed by now, he's surely not getting appointed at all is he?

The theory that our no. 1 preference is still involved in Finals is starting to sound pretty good.

I guess that would rule Leppa out as well?
