Worth mentioning that I listened to Voss this morning, and they spoke about the Walls article. Voss said it would need to be a "tidal wave" of support to get him back as Lions coach. He said that wasn't going to happen.

He didn't say he wouldn't. He didn't say he didn't want it. He just said that it would need a tidal wave, and he didn't think that was going to happen.

Tidal wave? I'd suggest we're swamped at the moment. It's probably time for a tidal wave.

Tidal waves of petitons?

It's funny - if the only way that Voss would be brought back is if there was a tidal wave of support, then perhaps that is what is best for the Club. A member tidal wave.

I can't see either faction from the Board volunteering to bring him back. While I'm convinced that Johnson had told the Board that Roos was virtually "in the bag" which lead to the unanimous decision, I can't see the opposition faction volunteering on their own to bring back Voss. Hence we'll go through the motions of finding a coach from what dregs are available - but I personally can't see any of them being better for the club than Voss is, so regardless of who is running the Board, I fear we'll end up with the second best option for the Brisbane Lions - because neither faction will be going back to Voss.

That is, unless the people speak. And is there enough of us that actually care in order to create the tidal wave?!?

Well Roos is now Demons coach. How shit does this make our club.

And what scares me is Voss fits the senior assistant/succession plan position perfectly.

There could be more humiliation yet.

So fair to say (And this is guess and may not be true):

- Roos said to Melbourne "I am interested in having a chat about being your coach".
- Brisbane got wind of this.
- Because of Roos saying he wont talk to a club which has a coach in place, Brisbane quickly decide one month ahead of time to sack Voss thinking "We have a better list than Melbourne so we will get him for sure".
- Brisbane sack Voss.
- Brisbane call Roos and he replies "I am only talking to Melbourne"
- Brisbane Directors who did not think Roos was a sure thing decide to split, get Leigh Matthews and try and fix things.
- Start interviewing any potential coach with a pulse because that's all they can do.

See Lions, it can be done.

Maybe having another West Aussie will help ease Simon Black's homesickness and he'll stick around.;)

Seriously though, didn't want Worsfold for senior coach, he looks burnt out and emotionally wrecked.
As an assistant though if Harvs is going could be very valuable.
Not sure that a Worfold/Harvey combo would work, so only one could be here next year and Woosha as assistant if we get a good newbie like Tudor could be a real coup.

I have changed my mind on Worsfold - I think you are right Skoob. I didn't realise he was going through personal issues until you mentioned it. Combine that with what his physical / emotional state looked like at those press conferences towards the end of the season makes you think it would take an incredible turnaround for him to be ready to coach in a few weeks.

On 360 Robbo said that Glen Jakovich (who is a friend of Worsfold) said something along the lines that Worsfold needs a year off (or something along those lines).

Jakovich also said Woosha had a spring in his step and he looked like the weight of the world had been lifted off his shoulders. Things can change pretty quick, and that's maybe all he needs, a change. His family are in Melbourne and up until a couple of weeks ago he was prepared to coach for another 2 years so moving to Brisbane isn't any different.

Anyone else think that the Roos succession plan at Melbourne sounds a lot like the succession plan that Angus was talking about for us when he sacked Voss. I'm wondering if Roos led Angus on a bit more than what we have heard about.

To sack Voss as suddenly as he did, he has to have believed that he had some sought of chance with Roos, who misled who, well I guess we will never know.

anyone else feeling excited about the future of the brisbane lions? WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON

I come here daily for doom. It is very entertaining.
