Admittedly I don’t rate them as a serious premiership contender but I’m staggered at how little love they are getting the press and with the book makers considering they’ve won their first 3 games of the season – include wins over finals contenders Adelaide and St Kilda.

Are people taking the ‘wait and see’ approach with the Dogs this year?

Its still early days, but we're going nicely. After last season I don't want to get at all carried away, we were 9 and 6 last season before it went to the crapper. But it also must be said that if you take away those 7 shocking weeks, we've been a decent side for the majority of the last 2 and a half seasons, so I don't think we were ever as bad as some people seemed to think

We're not gonna win the flag or anything, but with our start, and with a couple of winnable games coming up, you'd like to think the 8 would be a very good possibility

No, they are simply taking the opportunity to bag the Saints instead of praising Footscray, anyone who underestimates them will do so at their own peril.

I am definitely not jumping on board any talk of a flag just yet after the last few years.
We have promised so much but really delivered little when it all boils down.
Can not be happier with our start this year tho.
Griffin is a jet

Prolly the same reason as North were last year despite making the top 4, the reason is unproven status in Final performances.

I went to watch Bulldogs V Adelaide and St.Kilda.

They look good. Maybe in the past they have also looked good, but have fallen down half way through the season.

Cannot see why they wont make 8.

All the so called experts say that St.Kilda is the main challenger to Geelong.

Well guys, the Bulldogs smashed St.Kilda after quarter time.

Beware the Bulldogs.

Dogs aren’t getting the love because they left everyone at the alter last year and people don’t take kindly to being stood up.

I think its because last year or the year before they were seen as a Premiership chance and didnt live up anywhere near to expectations. So maybe the media wised up and is reluctant to back them.

There is a lot to like about the Dogs. Quick skills, good ball movement, match winners, game breakers, good to watch.

You just get the feeling they lack of things, such as consistent goal scores, besides Brad Johnson, and you wonder if they are more suited to the Dome than anywhere else.

I'm thinking finals, but I'm definately taking the wait and see approach, as they just don't seem to be as well balanced as other sides in terms of structure... certainly look a different side to the end of last year though

I personally am very very happy with our start to the season.

We have beating teams that have had the wood over us in the past in Adelaide, St Kilda and Melbourne.

We play Essendon, Richmond and West Coast Eagles in the upcoming three weeks. We could easily be 0-6 but knowing the Bulldogs we use to drop games in the past that we were favorite to win, Although we have improved in many ways this season winning the next three is another step to becoming a very good team.

Don't sweat it, better to let the press overhype teams like Dockers and Saints while you sneak quietly under the radar. BTW you are looking good, glad you got Acka now?

Didn't rate them at all the last couple of years, too skinny, rubish KPP and poor rucks were never going to get them far in the finals. I must admit they have gone along way to fixing these shortcomings and I think with a good run with injuries are top 4 material.

Well news just in...

... Higgens out for the year :thumbsdown::mad:

West out this week against the bombers and is a chance to miss the Richmond game :thumbsdown:

Harvey attempted to give them some love, specifically Aker and got kicked for it

I don't like being kicked.

Also, my dog eats my Melbourne football, and he looked extremely happy with himself last week.

He doesn't like being kicked either.

OK, so we're 3-0, but this week is the crunch week. Far too often we have followed up a great performance with something very ordinary (e.g: The week after the mega flood swept away Essendon's perfect season in 2000, we played crap against Hawthorn). If we play well this week, then we can talk it up more.

You'll miss higgens but better him than one of the big guys, and you'll get over the bombers and richmond even without west. The big fella's is you weekness and yuo can't afford to lose any of them.

We have already lost Williams and Everitt and going great. When they are fit and firing hopefully sometime in the next two weeks then we will have players pushing for KP spots :thumbsu:

They just scraped over the line against the crows with Johnno winning the game in the last 5 minutes.

beat the dees who are bottom 4.

beat the sainters who are the most overrated side in the AFL and did not even play finals last year.

will wait and see how they go against last years finalists.
