Stats this year:

Gary Ablett - 9 games - 44 tackles
Dane Swan - 9 Games - 34 tackles
Scott Pendlebury - 9 games 44 tackles
Joel Selwood - 9 games 51 tackles
Sam Mitchell - 9 games 31 tackles

Good midfielders tackle.

Now.....

Trent Cotchin - 8 games - 25 tackles
Brett Deledio - 9 games 29 tackles
Dustin Martin - 9 games - 14 tackles (Hey, remember Scully and Trengove? Those duds picked before you? They have 36 and 40 tackles so far this year).

Our best midfielders don't tackle.

Our top 2 tacklers are Jackson and Edwards - 34 and 33. We don't have a single tackler in the top 40.............

Well it would make sense to play Helbig and Arnot two blokes who don't mind the hard stuff over White and Nahas... and it might do some of that thing called development?
why the hell are those 2 getting a game? I always liked nahas but this year he has been pathetic and doesn't deserve to play... White??!! can't understand why he is still on the list... offers nothing but a run and bounce once or twice a game and the occasional goal. Should be sitting in the 2's until delisted at seasons end. Lets see the helbigs, arnots, deas etc... and see what they have to offer.

put the balls away at training one night, get blokes to pair up and go for it. then rotate them. its easy. good ol fashioned one on one biffo.

This is coach led. The mentality and style of play stinks.

Send these stats to the club. Geez. Long way to go.

yeah and both their teams have issued their members with GF tickets already....like get real dude if you are gunna pop up the stats, lets keep it relative...I mean really? you really think that playing for 2 shit teams aint gunna have you doing anything more than chasing and tackling?
I dont blame the players. It has to be a by product of the game plan. You cant suggest that a player just doesnt tackle because he wont...its that he aint in a position to tackle is where i think the issue lies and that points back to the game plan IMO.

I hope I am wrong but i have a bad feeling about what is happening atm. I mean, there is lack of concentration, players not being accountable, one week we are on and the next 3 we are shit.. etc etc and the same pattern is emerging. i.e. the players more likely to be in the gun to me moved on are the ones racking up the stats...because thats what gets them another year or so in the big time. Like i said i hope i am wrong, but it might be the case where the majority of the gun factor in the team is sending a coded message, saying game plan stinks, change it or change who planned it.;)

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet but the email I got about Dimma's dissection this week was titled something like 'defensive urgency is the key' - hopefully that means we are going to bring a lot of defensive pressure, tackling, chasing etc to our game against the eagles :thumbsu:

yeah but after 3 years of Dimma, you would think we wouldnt have to be saying, hopefully they will bring it this week etc etc...its got me ****ed why we have to talk about the tigers like this, after all the pre season shit about this is it, no excuses, its time to deliver etc and then we have players who basically are sitting back thinking someone else will pull up the slack...its strange IMO...this is TW shit we are dealing with here...one week we get shit, then we get the players will come out breathing fire because they couldnt blow out a ****ing candle the week before and that is where we shouldnt be atm..we should be on a mission and breathing ****ing fire each week..

Its no coincedence that when we play a contested team our tackle numbers go thrue the roof ie freo so our game style is a factor. However that means a tweek is needed and its interesting to hear that chocco has put his hand up to lead the coaching in this area.
