Why do people really hate Hird?

Why do people really hate Hird and/or are just sick of his bullsheet pr spin and continual denial / refusal to take real responsibility and want him to #### off the football landscape - b/c of comments like the following:

Iron Clad Jim: ".....The only question that tribunal was asked was whether or not they could be comfortably satisfied that our players got given thymosin beta-4. The tribunal came back with an absolutely iron clad [answer]: they couldn't be comfortably satisfied that they were given thymosin beta-4, so they were found not guilty. That makes them innocent," he said.

During that meeting Hird was informed by the AFL's Manager Integrity Services that PEPTIDES were a serious risk to the integrity of the AFL, in the same category as steroids and HGH and implored Hird to report to the AFL if he came across any information relating to peptides. Corcoran and Hamilton were both present at the meeting."

Since as far back as 2011 the AFL have done all they could to protect the integrity of the AFL and save Essendon from themselves & a world of hurt, nothing more!

"On 25 August 2011 Robinson was employed by the Club as its High Performance Coach."

"On 28 September 2011 Dank was interviewed by HIRD, Thompson, Robinson et al for the position of Sports Scientist, commencing on 4 November 2011.

On 8 February 2012 at a meeting of players of the Club, Dank introduced 4 substances that were purportedly approved for use in accordance with the 'Protocol'."

EVERYTHING that has occurred since 5 August 2011 (more than 4 years ago) at Essendon was instigated by james hird to have an unfair advantage over the other afl teams and with the Essendon administration and players in the full knowledge they would be treading on dangerous ground. Essendon apologists on here continually dismiss the information on the 'charge sheet' as fictitious, concocted by ASADA, AFL, the Government, the media. They have all failed every time to explain the sheer volume and time-line detail outlined in the charge sheet, instead they choose to blame all the people that were chosen by HIRD to carry out his 'suppliment' programme. You can make all the excuses you can dream up, but ultimately the buck stops with each individual player and what they CONSENTED to have INJECTED into THEIR OWN BODIES. Read the charge sheet yourselves and not continually follow the pap that the Club keep pumping out. You expect the public to dismiss the information on the charge sheet as rubbish, but accept and swallow whole the rubbish coming out of Hird, Little and Co.

HIRD has never taken responsiblity for his actions and removed himself from the essendon fc. TELL US JAMES, WHAT WAS INJECTED INTO YOUR PLAYERS?

For me, the last 6 months the way he has conducted him self and the way he stands by his beliefs I give him more respect than I ever have, and just going about his business and not giving a **** about the media in what they do or says with the persona they have created, and yet comes out of it all unscathed and still standing.

my missus is a bombers supporter and cant stand him dor whats happened and the holes his digging deeper for the club. If he just said i stand down and take full responsibility i think this would of been over long ago.
Piece of shit is not bigger than any club at all.
He seriously makes me sick and i hope they nail his balls to the wall

Hird pretty much cuts though the masses. People love him, people hate him.

As far as whether he should be coaching EFC though, it isn't up to me and I have no concern. He is employed by Essendon so the whole issue is an employer, employee matter now. It's up to EFC
 
When Hird played I honestly never got what the fuss was about.
Yes he was good, but no better to my mind then half a dozen others playing at the same time. I never understood how the media (MIke Sheehan, Cometti, et al) just fawned over him. They made Bruce McAvaney's obsession with Chris Judd seem like a passing phase.

I couldn't have cared less - he was just another annoying good player from another team.

When he came back to coach - it seemed to me it was all smoke and mirrors. He was the face to bring the faithful back. I couldn't have cared less - just another over rated untested formerly good player handed a senior coaching role on a platter lace out. We all know how that usually ends up.

WHat has transpired over the past three years has left me consistently amazed at what he has been able to get away with ( at the very least complete lack of control) and the polarization of Essendon fans towards him. I find it fascinating in a ghoulish train wreck watching sort of way.

I certainly don't respect him. I think he's pathetic and the club he represents have fallen into a sycophantic trance.

He has wrecked Essendon. I should be grateful but I'm not - just amused in a sad sort of way.
 
Personally it comes down to trust. I have difficulty liking people I can't trust.
He has shown preparedness to throw trusted friendships/relationships aside for self service.
He has not had the strength of character to say it happened whilst I was coach, in charge of these
young men's lives. Whether I was aware or not, it happened on my watch!! I accept my responsibility,
my failures.
Man up!! or F**k off.

Out of 18 coaches in the AFL only ONE wasnt an assistant first.
This guy thinks normal rules dont apply to him and that includes the WADA Code.
He is hated because he is a liar and has made so many contradictory self serving statements that are clearly BS and hired spin doctors and media and pr experts to spin his case.
He is hated because despite being caught out he thinks he can still lawyer, pr and influence his way out of any responsibility. He has told so many lies it is hard to keep up

I did enjoy Hirdy's boundary line coaching yesterday. Was great to see him organizing the players in front of a decent crowd and gave the loyalists another reminder of his likely coaching horizon-a successful one. There weren't many B/Lions at the game, notwithstanding not a bad word thrown at Hirdy as far as I could tell. If he's digging a hole, he's a long long way from China.

I loved the way he finally changed his coaching style to kick the ball forward. Everyone including resenting supporters have been wishing for that. He better not try and claim credit for what every couch potato were already whinging about.

I suppose when they nailed Hawthorn it all seemed too easy for the players, and they reverted to herringbone football. Great to see Hirdy has righted the ship.
