Why do people really hate Hird?

I just can't forget the grab when he was first appointed that went something like -

"I guess I just have to teach these guys how to play".

I'll let others judge his performance.
He was bitching and moaning that he had 7 players under 50 games in the team.

He doesn't strike me as the "teaching" type with such a shitty attitude.

Hird, the gift that keeps on giving. Karma bus has hit Essendon right between the eyes. The WADA appeal has mentally fried everyone at the club, as seen by performance, and making Hird look like one shit, probably soon to be sacked coach with a destroyed legacy. Turned the club to shit.

They did a real hatchet job on Knights. Disreputable club in need of a further cleanout.

Try playing with an injury list as long as the cats.

Hird is a $hit truck

I've almost reached the point of not caring whether they get busted by WADA. They almost suffered enough...almost. Once Hird gets the boot, I'd be fine with the players getting off without sanctions - much as I think they were total idiots for following Hird into that mess.

Similar. Could almost hope the players get off lightly if they canned Hird and expressed genuine contrition.

You can
  • Be part of the darkest day in Australian Sport
  • Be the only person to have brought the game into disrepute twice
  • Failed to protect your staff including young adults
  • Be fined a motza by the league, including draft picks
  • Told to F#% off out of the country for a year by your boss ... in a text message
  • Spent more time in court than on the training track
and still have a job however lose to the Sainters by 110pts and you position is questioned? Tis a funny old world we live in, well some of us.

It seems that the final straw was a 110 point drubbing by the previous year's wooden spooner.

The gloss and aura is at last starting to fade.

Do you really think the CAS are going to look favourably on this? Not going to happen.

The players are to blame as well, they willingly took the drugs, kept it in-house and didn't bother to check up on it. Stuff them, they should get suspended.

Yep the karma bus will go nowhere until every last one of them is penalised.

Not only that. The players have blindly followed Hird and Little the whole time and now they will suffer the consequences.

If they had have stood up just once and taken control of their own situations, which would have required them to take an almighty dump on Hird and Dank, then this is already over.

But no one had the balls.

The AFL's role in this is a disgrace and will drag the rest of the clubs into it.

This whole thing is a balls up of massive proportions and it is all one persons fault.

I don't expect CAS to cut them any slack, no. I was just expressing a personal feeling on how I would accept another "not guilty" verdict if it were to happen. As MagpieJo described it, the "karma bus" doesn't necessarily demand that they be found guilty for me anymore. As much as I find the whole thing reprehensible I think the players have been through hell and have probably had their dose of karma by now.

Not anything analytical, just an irrelevant personal comment.

They took their chances - fight the charge, avoid penalty. And it blew up in their faces. Tough t***ies.
