So no surprise the team that won a 3 peat on the back of COLA and has done jack-shit since, and a team that were umpired to the 66 flag, are at the top of the free-kick differential ladder.

What could be behind such a disparity? The standard has clearly dropped since the introduction of the 4th umpire which probably explains a fair bit (bench umpires now on the field).
What else could be behind such incredible luck with the whistle for St Kilda and the Lions?
