It's good to see Fat-ed out and about again. He seemed to go quiet there for a while.

The Port Adelaide Football Club was first founded on 20 April 1870
The Collingwood Football Club was established on 12 February 1892.
Hmmm, unless Port changed to the prison bars after Collingwood did?

Can they wear anything they like at any time? Do they have any approval regime?Write to the EPL. You may be able to help them avoid impending doom.
LOL…. You do realise that anyone can create or update Wiki. Just because it is in WIKI does not make it true…
Port wore pink, then magenta until 1903.
geez i wish port fans would make their mind up about who they are.
seems to me there is is the port adelaide magpies a team that has been around for over 100 yrs is full of tradition and is unerversally hated by all and sundry bar its small pocket of fans.
there is also the port adelaide power a team that has been in existence since 1996 that has little tradition and is poorly supported because of its insistence to link itself with the poart adelaide magpies.
it was a huge mistake taking on the name of a suburban footy team a hated one at that. i would have thought they would be doing all they can distance themselves from the sa magpies and give themselves a chance to grow their club.
they want to hope there is never a third team in sa with a name that encompasses the whole state they will be left in the dust, if they havent been already.
why dont people ask the simple question, how can a club struggle so much for numbers to games and members in a two team town. the answer is hitting em in the face.
Watched 360 last night and David Koch was on their talking about the prison bar jumper to be worn this weekend and Eddie clearly stated this will be the last time ever that port can wear this jumper!
I would like to know what on earth would it have to do with Eddie Mcguire what jumper a club can or can't wear on certain occasions.
Port conceded years ago they would never wear this jumper on a permanent basis, but why on earth if they want to wear it once a year for a certain round should they even need to ask Collingwood or Eddie Mcguire.
Just submit to the AFL who run the game and it is their decision, nothing what so ever to do with Collingwood.
For Eddie to just say this will never happen again is arrogant to say the least and for someone who always comes across as a traditional person it really is pathetic.
Given it is their jumper and not being the AFL that seems a pretty silly question.
Your argument might carry some weight except for the fact that the tradition and history of the Port Power started in 1997. As a Collingwood supporter I have no problem with other clubs celebrating their tradition, I do however have an issue with clubs inventing it.
How do some of you Clowns manage to breathe. Collingwood have owned the Black and White stripes longer than Port, if you'd read lOki's post here instead of mouthing off...Port Adelaide-1870.
Collingwood Magpies-1892.
Sorry Ed but Port can wear the black and white any bloody time they like.
Vlad "but,but but"
Shudaap you bumbling booby.
The SANFL incarnation was yes, in 1870.
We were the first 'Club' in Black and white stripes and to use the nick Magpies, the SA state jumper.
Here are Ports first lot of names and some guernsey's:
Original jumper and name maybe they should wear this permanently it is after all the original Port jumper, I'm sure Geelong will be fine with it seeing as it is baby blue instead of navy blue!
Port Adelaide Cockle divers,
or this one no clash with any team:
Port Adelaide Seaside men,
Port Adelaide Seasiders,
Port Adelaide Magentas.
They settled on the Port Adelaide Magpies in 1902 on entry to the AFL competition they changed to Port Adelaide Power and introduced teal, silver and a lightning bolt.
So Port have a history of changing Nicks and colours, so why the fuss?
Erhm right.
Like I asked them to give a **** about my team. Run along now band wagoner.
Erhm right.
Just as Port Adelaide Football Club don't give a **** what you think. Run along now little man.
Just like the rest of the AFL don't give a crap about your shitty SANFL history and its jumper.
Jog on muppet.
Geez, you would think the OP was a Port supporter!
Now your just taking the piss, unless your shitting me?
Mate, use spell check you illiterate heck! As for ignorance, why should I bother to contribute to it with a response, thought I'd just repost it to highlight your uselessness.
100% pure garbage
Don't write about things you know nothing about
Sorry, I didnt think this got enough attention the first time i reposted it.
Mate, I don't mean to be impolite but have you recently occurred any bumps, abrasions or knocks to the head? Or am I led to believe that you have always been so stupid?
truth hit a nerve or 4. seems like a lot of offended here truth tends to do that.. and from it seems 12 yr olds. you know you have won when children resort to abuse.
simple fact is port adelaide is the most despised club in sa. for the life of me i cant see too many supporters of other clubs jumping on board while they are still linked to the magpies.you created a limited market by aligning yourself with a suburban club.
again two team town and struggling for numbers at games and members. why is this. as i said before it is hitting you in the face. port fans can kid themselves it is no skin off my nose. but my opinion is it has to hurt and inhibit the afl power from growing.
You forgot to breathe when you didn't see the post I made after the one above.Anyway Black and White poo compared to YELLOW AND BLACK!How do some of you Clowns manage to breathe. Collingwood have owned the Black and White stripes longer than Port, if you'd read lOki's post here instead of mouthing off...
At the start of the year they register their strip and two alternates. There is a bit of going back and forth on the alternates but not on the main strip. Can they wear anything they like at any time? Do they have any approval regime?
In any event the EPL is not restricted to a defined 18 clubs and they also play against international clubs over which the EPL has no control. We don't need to work around the need to have similar let alone identical ouitfits.
i do understand the history i was being a tad facetious.Port Adelaide didn't "align" themselves with a suburban club we earned a licence to play in the AFL and under an agreement with the SANFL were forced to maintain a presence in the SANFL.
We have 40,000 members which isn't too bad from our previous two years took us. Can we maintain it? Let's see but you guys have played finals once in 30 years and have maintained your core support, I would like to think we can too.
i do understand the history i was being a tad facetious.
fair enough 40k is an improvement on previous yrs. but 40k in a two team town is poor. and going by history id say 40k is at the top end of limits. where are the new supporters coming from. id argue there are few others to be had because of the history and fact you are the opposition and despised opposition historically.
as for crowd numbers aami holds how many 45k 50k. in a good season for membership in just a two team state you average just 26k to home games and if you took the showdowns out it becomes significantly less.
the stats or averages outside of finals has not changed much at all.
look imo i think its a valid argument to say that coming into the afl as an existing sanfl club greatly restricts your ability to grow both attendance numbers and membership.
especially when you are trying to win over the bulk of your members from other sanfl clubs supporter groups.
