Now Im Not a guy who has a go at my team alot, but Essendon you were f******* gutless and pathetic. How can you play like that for a champion and icon of the club. It was the most pathetic piece of shit since i have been an essendon supporter. Yes, injuries didnt help with fresh legs coming on but FFS we were playing the 16th team on the ladder..And for the people who said that we would win by 10 goals, you guys better have better comebacks than we had injuries and shit because your gonna cop it big time. I Think at least 12 people must go at years end.

Mark Johnson -too old and slow

Jobe Watson - too slow

Damien Peverill - too slow and old

Jason Johnson - slow

Kepler Bradley - just a dud

Scott Camporreale - Slow and turns ball over too much

David Hille - too top heavy and isnt a ruckmen, the only way he is going to stay if the new coach plays him out at CHF and Lucas down at CHB and play Laycock and Ryder in the ruck

Courtney Johns - Cant play..

Mark Bolton - Terrible all round

Chris Heffernan - has given nothing since coming back

Richard Cole - hopeless

Andrew Lee - hasnt been given a go so obvisouley not good enough..

All those players should be gone at the end of the year. I dont care if we finish last on the ladder but at least we will get rid of these guys who are costing us games.

If you were a die hard essendon supporter you would agree with me. Well Done Richmond, you did beat us but you guys are still just as bad which makes it worse for us because we lost to u.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Geez we have done well without Jobe in the middle... Who cares that he gets the ball more then anyone else can in our team... Campo is gone but thats because he will retire.. However, he was our best midfielder the last two weeks and his kicking is betetr then your namesakes

You cant drop 12 players from your list in one year. Who are you going to replace 12 players with in a draft that lacks depth. How good do you think picks 70, and 80 will be? They wont get anywhere near most of those guys. Also getting rid Watson is idiotic. Not every player needs to be super quick. He gets clearances which is an area we are sorely lacking in.
James Hird not good enough at pick 79...
id be happy if we picked someone up like him at 70-80
look, ill admit that there a few who are unlucky to be in my list..eg. Watson,Lee etc

but if we are gonna become a powerhouse of the AFL again then we have to get rid of these names because A. Too Slow B. Absolute Dud

How many Hird's have been picked at pick 79 mate?

Give them a go and have a look...ya never know mate
Maybe in a strong draft, but it is highly unlikely that someone like that will come up in this years draft. We would be better off promoting an extra rookie, or going for a pick in the PSD.

Sorry but I think that delisting a guy who reads the football better then anyone else in the team (after Hird goes) after putting 5 years of pre-seasons in him for a guy who may or may not play a game of AFL because he is slow would be the craziest thing a team has ever done.. James Hird has never been a fast player. he reads the game well... Same as Jobe...

How you can put Lee in the same bracket is an insult to Jobe. Lee is the worst player on our list.

Relying on drafting kids from pick 40+ would be an unmitigated disaster.

Also you obviously don't have any idea how the TPP operates in regards to the salary cap. If we delisted all those players we would most probably find ourselves in breach of the TPP and we wouldn't get those draft picks anyway.

The decision to drop Jobe finally came back to bite Sheedy on the ass last night. Every time there was a contest, a ball up or a boundary throw in you just knew that unless Laycock grabbed the ball himself and belted it forward we were going to get beaten.

You could see how frustrated Laycock was getting towards the end of the game when he just started bashing the ball forward as far as he could at the ruck contest Clark Keating style rather than having his taps continually sharked by the richmond on ballers.

Jobe is injured anyway so he couldnt have played but i get the point you are making. Wasnt much in the middle at times to win the clearances.

I did notice Jobe was not picked for Bendigo yesterday and did not get named in the best or kick a goal - so I am guessing he was injured ???

just a richmond supporters POV, please dont shoot me down.

it is considered thats your list is very old and slow. guys like both johnsons, peverill, watson all lack pace and are getting on. aside from winderlich and to a lesser extent stanton and welsh you really lack run carry and some pace through the middle. this is one area of richmonds game that we really excell at (probably the only area). we exposed collingwood (licuria, burns, o'bree) and you guys last night in that exact area.

i think you really missed fletcher last night

Jason Johnson, Peverill and Watson all didn't play last night so I don't see your point.

my point is that you have an aging slow midfield and its been apparent for ages now. with those blokes you are slow. without those blokes you dont get the footy. you could neither get the footy or use it last night.

the blokes that replaced them in the middle couldn't find the footy

one shining light last night was monfries looked better . ive always liked him as a player and i thought his job on foley was brilliant

is mcphee injured?

Tend to agree that our slow midfield and our inability to run and carry (and appropriatey deliver)...is the key issue!

We're not overly slow, did people not see Winderlich, Dempsey and Lovett last night, our problem, apart from skill levels, too many players have below average engines, too many players are out-run and we're often outnumbered around the ground.

It's not a pace issue, it's a work rate issue, the turnovers makes us look a lot worse.

Yes and no.

If you lined up each team our top 10 would be comparable.

The bottom 4-5 we lose out on in pace and running engine.

It is not helped when we have such a tall side that has to carry a few players.

Yeah true.

We have players with, pace, players with skill ect, but our bottom half lacks complete players.

We need to nail some draft picks of midfielders who may not have awesome traits in one area, but are solid at everything, who can run hard all game, use it fine, can be accountable ect, ect, just to fill out the team a little.

aside from the obvious in winderlich who do you think has the tools to be your next midfielders

We already have a core group in place.

Watson to win clearances.

Stanton and Winderlich to provide the run.

Next generation in Demspey, Hislop, Houli to come through.

Support from Nash, McVeigh, Rama, Monfries, Slattery.

And hopefully we can snag the missing ingredient in by picking up Judd, Cousins, Kerr type midfielder in this years draft. ;)

Apart from the fact it was McVeigh who played on Foley, I agree with you.

Winderlich is currently injured , has been for the last two games. Has spent hardly any time in the middle.

Looked like he could barely run last night... same with Stanton.

They both looked pretty lame to me.

Why begs the question why wasn't another runner (Peverill?) selected to counter the players going in with an injury cloud

Im dead certain I saw Winders break away from half back in the third or fourth quarter. Did alright if he was carrying an injury. Stanton has never looked like he's recovered from his injury, so the off season has come at the right time for him. Hope they bring in Peverill to run with Cousins...wouldnt mind seeing how he copes with who I believe is the best 'gut runner' in the league.
