Sorry EJW but the way you've written it reads as if it'll go to "extra time" if the vote is a tie and it's only if it's clear after much more discussion that it will remain deadlocked, you'll vote.

Do you mean that you would set a voting deadline and if it was tied when that deadline was reached, you would cast the deciding vote?

I will let the committee argue for days and then when they reach a decision I'll choose a third option they never new about
