Just a note (and a few of the other posters on BF could vouch for this) I can get info pretty close to Beams, and all the info I've be given to date has eventuated.

it would be pretty hard to move from such a large and passionate club to the GC particularly if you are a bright eyed youngster looking to conquer the world.
id be pretty surprised if Beamsy left before winning one or two flags with us.

Beamer is already signed up until end 2012. I don't think he'll re-sign again this year.
SEN just interviewed Mark Kleimen who works for Velocity, Beams' management group.
The topic was the GC17 and negotiations with players, and mentioned how Beams turned down the GC due to wanting to be a career player at Collingwood.

Probably, but who would want to play for WS18? Aside from money, there would be no reason for Beamer to want to join them. He has no ties to Sydney, and they won't be competitive until the end of the decade.
I know that if i was going to leave a club in a few years after i'd made a name for myself i would be telling everyone, imagine how nice they'd treat me until i left?!?!?!!
Please! Until he retires in the black and white there will always be speculation about going home to the GC. From what i've heard though (see earlier in the thread) he won't be there after his contract expires. Contrary to that, I hope i do see him held up leaving the ground some day, carried by Sidebottom, and some sons of Collingwood greats, with Coach Buckley watching over them all.
Anyone notice today in the herald sun that Beams and Jax were standing next to each other. Confirmation that something is going on between them, why else would the club be making such an effort to make them look like they are getting along.

Personally, I think Beams' signing an extension into 2011 displays that he is a Collingwood man through and through, and unless we serially mistreat him at some stage in the ilk St Kilda did to Ball, I'd say he'd stay.
