Will Brendon Goddard help the Bummers beat Melbourne in 2013?

How true. How true!

In fact, I suspect you're kinda low-balling it there...

Seems to have got us better results than Melbourne. It doesn't matter because next year Essendon will be getting better results than Richmond, Carlton and Melbourne. I'll make sure to be on for your comments then.

Not since Round 9 he hasn't :D

Oh yes, that'll be happening.

Holy shit, I think I just saw a flying pig...

Did anyone else see that?

Essendon is old. We may have Fletcher who can do more than Chaplin even at his age, but then Watson is only 27 and all our other promising players like Hurley, Carlise, Zaka, Stanton, Daniher, Ryder, Bellchambers... the list goes on, who are all still very young. If you think Richmond can get past Sydney, Hawthorn, Geelong (With the added talent), Collingwood, Adelaide, West Coast, Fremantle, or even an Essendon/Carlton/North Melbourne you are an idiot.

We beat Sydney and Hawthorn ths year! and we thrashed you and weren't too far off the rest.

Hate to break it to you but we are already past you.

The ladder wouldn't suggest that. Can't wait for next year because it's not going to go the way you think.

The ladder lol you were half a game ahead.

We thrashed you. We never got thrashed all year. We could have easily had 6 more wins this year and we are young and raw.

Bummers are farked. :O

Mmmm, I like that - as long as we aren't 2009 Melbourne, of course :p

2008 Richmond just missed the 8 and then went out and got Cuz..

Ageing list picking up a former star? Sound familiar?

"Washed up and Injury prone"

Are you talking about Goddard or your former captian, Chris Newman? He missed two games this season. How is that injury prone? He still had a decent season if you haven't seen my earlier posts about his stats.

Nothing against Chris, but if Goddard is apparently "washed up", then I don't even know what to call Newman.
Just call him champ!...:thumbsu:

Next year next year, you are sounding like a tugger fan. It does not matter how good you are up to round 9. What matters is the result at the end of the year. No team goes uninjuried. Essenscum have a record of beginning good & finishing bad. This year was just like the years before. No reason for this to alter.

Looking forward to yet another Bummer meltdown, talking themselves up as 100+ victors only for the players to wander off the ground with dick in hand.

Grandpa Gods isn't going to change that.

There actually is a reason for this to alter. "The Weapon" wont have complete power of the pre-season training and will be watched over. Why shouldn't I talk about next year when this year is already over?

Goddard had a shocker when we played Melbourne earlier this year when he got tagged out of the game so probably not.

We would have been crazy to match Essendon's offer.

I'm sure if some other club offers Cotchin twice what he is worth and you lose him you will want good compensation.

I agree you would have been crazy to match the offer, the thing I am on about is the Saints got the 10 best years out of him and he now seems to be past his best, so surely overly compensating will cause issues in the future, but good luck to the Saints get whatever they can, they have already owned the Bombers on this one, surely he would have better suited a club that was pushing for a flag next year.

Whether Newman is washed up remains to be seen simple fact is we didn't just sign Newman to a 4 year contract at 800,000+, so I don't see what your point is?
